Unlimited Lobsters, Premium Seafood, and a Priceless City View: Crowne Plaza KLCC’s ‘Buy 2 Free 1’ Buffet Is Back and Better Than Ever

May 8, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

In a city known for its thriving food culture and love for indulgent dining, few buffet experiences have managed to stand out quite like the lobster feast at Crowne Plaza Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC). Back by popular demand, the hotel’s signature seafood buffet is now offering an irresistible Buy 2 Free 1 promotion — bringing the average cost per diner down to just RM168 nett.
This deal, available at the sophisticated Merchants Restaurant on the hotel’s 13th floor, is drawing seafood enthusiasts from all over the Klang Valley. Known for its scenic views, stylish interiors, and warm hospitality, Merchants sets the perfect scene for an unforgettable evening of culinary indulgence.

Boston Lobster Takes Center Stage

The main star of the buffet remains unchanged — Boston lobster, served without limits. Although this year’s offering sticks to a single lobster variety, diners hardly seem to mind. The continuous flow of fresh, meaty lobster claws and tails ensures every guest leaves satisfied.
For those who missed last year’s viral “Buy 1 Free 1” offering, this year’s Buy 2 Free 1 still offers incredible value, especially for groups. For a party of six, two diners eat for free — a huge draw for family gatherings, company dinners, and special celebrations.

Seafood Galore: From the Ice Bar to the Sashimi Counter

The chilled seafood section is a showstopper in its own right. Overflowing with a bounty of the ocean’s finest, this area features a generous selection of crab claws, tiger prawns, fresh oysters, and green-lipped mussels. Guests can pile their plates high, knowing each item is replenished promptly and maintained at peak freshness.
The sashimi counter has also seen a notable upgrade. Thick, expertly cut slices of salmon, tuna, and other seasonal fish offer a more satisfying texture and flavor — a clear improvement from the thinner slices of previous rounds. The variety and quality here would not be out of place at a premium Japanese restaurant.

Hot Dishes Made with Heart

Though the hot food selection may be smaller in scope, it more than makes up for it in execution. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared, showcasing both local and international flavors. From stir-fried Asian specialties to classic Western comfort dishes, the buffet strikes a balance between indulgent and familiar.
Diners also raved about the tender lamb stew and their local Johor Laksa — proving that while lobster is the main event, the supporting acts deserve a spotlight too.

Save Room for Dessert

For those with a sweet tooth, the dessert bar will not disappoint. Displayed with flair and finesse, the pastry counter offers everything from dainty mini cheesecakes and fruit tarts to indulgent chocolate confections and many more. Notably, the desserts strike the right balance — sweet without being cloying, and rich without being heavy.
The ice cream station is another hit, with several premium flavours available alongside a wide range of toppings. Not just that, the bingsu and the chendol is a must to try too. Whether you prefer to end your meal with a light mousse or a decadent brownie, there’s something here for every kind of dessert lover.

A Buffet That Ticks All the Right Boxes

In a dining scene that’s often saturated with overpriced gimmicks and underwhelming menus, Crowne Plaza KLCC’s lobster buffet stands out for its genuine value, consistent quality, and thoughtful presentation. Whether you’re a die-hard seafood lover or simply looking to treat yourself to a luxurious night out, this is one buffet that won’t leave you disappointed.
Paired with sweeping city views and a laid-back yet elegant atmosphere, it’s easy to see why this buffet remains a crowd favourite.
