A Festive Homecoming at IL Forno: Celebrating Christmas the Italian Way

December 22, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

This festive season, IL Forno at Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur invites diners to step into something deeply comforting — not merely a restaurant, but the feeling of a warm Italian home. Rooted in the timeless tradition of la tavola italiana, the experience is built around food meant to be shared, conversations that linger, and moments that feel like family.

At IL Forno, Christmas is not about excess or spectacle. Instead, it is about heart — dishes prepared with care, passed around the table with joy, and enjoyed slowly, as they would be in Italy. It is festive dining that feels intimate, generous and sincere.

A Festive Menu Crafted With Heart

The festive offering moves beyond the conventional buffet format, presenting instead a semi-buffet experience that balances abundance with thoughtful structure. Guests begin with a generous spread designed to encourage sharing and discovery.

A highlight of the evening is the chilled seafood selection, featuring lobster, prawns and fresh scallops — clean, fresh flavours that set a celebratory tone. The antipasti table showcases Italian classics such as vitello tonnato, carpaccio and other delicacies that reflect the elegance of Italian appetisers.

The burrata bar adds a creamy indulgence to the experience, offering fresh burrata paired thoughtfully with accompaniments that enhance its delicate richness. Alongside this, a salad and dessert bar allows guests to enjoy unlimited savoury and sweet options, while hot, fragrant pizzas are freshly prepared and passed around the table — a gesture that perfectly captures the spirit of communal Italian dining.

A Refined Three-Course Celebration

Following the semi-buffet, guests are served a three-course plated menu, bringing focus and finesse to the experience. The journey begins with Scialatielli Amalfi, a handmade pasta dish that reflects the freshness and soul of Italy’s coastal regions.

For the main course, diners may enjoy Filetto di Merluzzo in Padella, a delicately pan-fried cod that highlights restraint and balance, or Controfiletto di Manzo, a beautifully prepared beef dish that delivers depth, warmth and festive satisfaction.

Dessert is a celebration in itself. Guests are encouraged to save room for dolce, where the iconic Tiramisu and Panna Cotta take centre stage — timeless Italian desserts that deliver comfort, elegance and pure joy with every bite.

Festive Dining Dates to Mark the Season

IL Forno’s festive programme spans key moments of the holiday season:

Celebrating One Year of Hyatt Centric

Adding to the festive cheer, Hyatt Centric City Centre Kuala Lumpur marks its first anniversary this season. Guests who book and stay between 1 and 18 December can take part in a celebratory scratch-and-win experience upon check-in, with prizes including room upgrades, dining vouchers and bonus World of Hyatt points.

An Italian Table, A Festive Heart

At its core, IL Forno’s festive offering is about connection. It is about food served generously, laughter shared freely, and moments that feel personal rather than performative. Whether gathered with family, friends or colleagues, diners are welcomed into a space where every meal feels like coming home.

In a season often filled with hurried celebrations, IL Forno offers something rarer: a festive experience grounded in warmth, tradition and the simple pleasure of eating together — the Italian way.
