The Butcher’s Table Opens Fifth Outlet at Faber Towers, Taman Desa — A Celebration of Craft, Legacy & Bold Flavours

August 4, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

One of Malaysia’s most beloved names in artisanal cured meats, The Butcher’s Table, has officially opened the doors to its fifth outlet, bringing its signature house-made sausages, juicy roast pork, and bold, honest flavours to Faber Towers, Taman Desa. This latest addition continues the brand’s mission of serving time-honoured butchery fare in inviting, contemporary spaces — all rooted in generations of expertise.

🧬 A Legacy of True Butchery

Founded in 2017, The Butcher’s Table represents the life’s work of Mr. Ho Kim Loon, a master butcher with over 30 years of experience and deep roots in traditional European meat preparation. His journey began in the 1980s, deboning over 200kg of meat a day, perfecting the craft of handmade sausages, hams, and smoked bacon. In the early ’90s, he opened the now-iconic Mr Ho’s Fine Foods in Bangsar, a name many still remember fondly.

Today, Mr. Ho’s legacy is proudly carried on by his children, Kent and Tiffany Ho, who lead the brand with the same commitment to craftsmanship, quality, and family. “Our expansion to Taman Desa is more than just growth,” shares Mr. Ho. “It’s a continuation of the values we built this brand on — quality over shortcuts, and family over scale.”

The new Faber Towers location offers a glasshouse-inspired design with abundant natural light, lush greenery, and an airy, modern interior. It’s a warm yet contemporary dining space, perfect for family lunches, casual catch-ups, and pork lovers’ get-togethers.

House Salad

The House Salad offers a crisp, refreshing start — simple greens dressed just enough to whet the appetite,

German Potato Salad

And for the German Potato Salad, it comes packed with punchy character, thanks to generous bits of smoky bacon, sweet-sour apple, and gherkins that lend a vinegary brightness to each bite. It’s rustic, hearty, and full of old-world charm.

Crispy Roast Pork with Pickled Vegetables

But the real magic begins with the meats. The Crispy Roast Pork with Pickled Vegetables is a showstopper — the skin blistered to a golden crunch, the belly tender and rich, balanced out by the tartness of house-pickled vegetables that cut through the fat with finesse.

Grilled Pancetta

For those who enjoy their pork smoky and deeply savoury, the Grilled Pancetta is a revelation: slow-grilled to coax out natural sweetness, with a caramelised crust and buttery layers of fat that melt on the tongue.

Tomapork

Larger appetites or diners who love to share will gravitate toward the Tomapork — a jaw-dropping 600-gram cut that brings together three beloved pork elements in one: the rib, the loin, and the belly. Chargrilled to perfection, it’s juicy, bold, and perfect for the table to gather around.

Sausage Platter

Of course, no visit to The Butcher’s Table would be complete without tasting what they do best — sausages. Their handmade sausage platters are a celebration of European craftsmanship, with varieties that offer both comfort and complexity. The Cheese Sausage is a creamy, indulgent favourite among kids and adults alike, while the Farmer’s Bratwurst delivers on tradition with robust herbs and a hearty meatiness. For a touch of luxury, the Iberico Sausage stands out — rich, nutty, and deeply flavoured, thanks to the prized Spanish pork used in its making.

Smoked Pork Knuckle with Sauerkraut

Then there’s the Smoked Pork Knuckle with Sauerkraut, a dish that feels like it’s been pulled from a Bavarian beer hall — the knuckle smoked low and slow until it’s fall-apart tender, with a glossy, crisped skin and a bed of sharp sauerkraut to balance its richness. It’s bold, it’s satisfying, and it’s a firm favourite among the regulars.

Truffle Mac & Cheese

To round off the meal, the Truffle Mac & Cheese is no afterthought. Layered with guanciale, mushrooms, and bacon, this side dish is so indulgent it could easily stand alone. Earthy from the truffle, creamy from the cheese, and shot through with crispy bits of pork lard, it’s the sort of dish you promise to share — but never want to.

At its core, The Butcher’s Table is about more than just food — it’s about legacy, values, and bringing people together over hearty, honest meals. Every dish reflects a respect for tradition, quality cuts, and hand-crafted preparation. You won’t find shortcuts here, only real food made the right way, just as Mr. Ho has always done.

Whether you’re a fan of crispy roast pork, smoked knuckles, or heritage sausages, this new outlet offers all your favourites — served in a setting that feels both fresh and familiar.
