Now Open: The Pizza Project Serving Heart Warming Dishes in second location, Star Street

July 16, 2020 by StrawberrY Gal

Serving pizza to the people, The Pizza Project specializes in and revolves around its namesake. Perched on Star Street in Wan Chai, the eatery aims to indulge with worth it dishes that speak to the soul and invoke memories of dining experiences enjoyed during our childhood. At The Pizza Project, the team focuses on the quality of the pizzas served, letting all other considerations and aspects develop naturally and organically. A restaurant where the guest experience takes precedence, the team does its best to create an enjoyable and relaxed environment.

The Pizza Project Star Street, following in the footsteps of its predecessor The Pizza Project Central, boasts a one-page menu that is easy to digest and make selections from, serving handmade pizzas that are fluffy, thin and crisp. The no reservations joint strives to include everyone and anyone, with vegetarian selections currently on the menu and gluten free dishes available on request. A full experience that begins with

Antipasti offerings, guests can nibble on favourites such as the Eggplant Parmigiana (HKD95) with mozzarella and parmesan. A classic Italian treat originating from Emilia, a variety of Gnocco Fritto, essentially a fluffy bread pillow, is on offer, including the Mortadella (HKD65) with ricotta and pistachio, the Porchetta Tonnata (HKD85) with tuna mayo and capers and the Truffle (HKD70) topped with ricotta and black truffle. Selections on the menu’s Le Pizze section range from iconic styles such as the vegetarian Margherita (HKD70) with tomato sauce, DOP mozzarella and fresh basil to creative renditions like the Napoli (HKD120) topped with Cantabrian anchovies, cherry tomatoes, garlic and capers. The Rustica (HKD95) is a pizza not to be missed with pancetta, baked potato and seasoned with rosemary, while meat lovers will treasure the Salsiccia E Scamorza (HKD110) generously garnished with fresh sausage. If guests crave a pizza with additional toppings from the list of Condimenti that tickle their fancy, the team will gladly whip up a custom pizza for their enjoyment. For those with a sweet tooth, The Pizza Project’s Dolci section features mouth-watering homemade desserts like White Chocolate Mousse (HKD 60) topped with raspberry jam and a generous treat of mixed nuts.

There’s no better way to enjoy pizza than with a glass of quality wine. At The Pizza Project, all wines are priced equally and served in three formats – HKD300 per bottle, HKD220 per caraffe and HKD70 per glass – to ensure that guests forget about the price and focus on the wine that they would like to enjoy. Offering a selection of 30 Italian wines, there’s never a shortage of advice on which bottle to open or pair with the meal. Additionally, the restaurant offers a specially curated list of 15 types of wines served by the glass that is frequently refreshed, ideal for guests looking to sample new labels.

The Pizza Project is a venue that keeps on giving – great food and wine, good vibes, toe tapping music and a team that knows how to look after you again and again.
