Honour Love with a Grand Feast: Grand Imperial Celebrates Parents’ Day with Opulence and a Chance to Win a Chongqing Getaway

May 22, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

This July, honour the timeless love and sacrifices of our beloved parents with a feast as grand as their devotion. The Grand Imperial Group, Malaysia’s esteemed name in premium Chinese dining, unveils a remarkable Parents’ Day celebration that promises not just an exceptional culinary journey — but also an unforgettable holiday surprise.

From 9 to 15 July 2025, Grand Imperial invites you and your loved ones to indulge in one of three specially curated set menus — priced at RM1,488++, RM1,688++, and RM2,688++ — designed to showcase the art of Cantonese banquet dining in its most elegant and heartfelt form. And here’s the exciting twist: guests who dine during this promotion will be in the running to win a luxury getaway for two to Chongqing, China, complete with flights, full-board accommodations, and curated experiences valued at RM10,000.

We had the pleasure of sampling the RM1,688++ menu, and it was nothing short of exquisite — a tribute to tradition, opulence, and culinary finesse.

The Parent’s Day Four Combination

The celebration begins with the Parent’s Day Four Combination, a dazzling quartet of thoughtfully crafted bites that speak of luxury and innovation.

The Deep-Fried Shrimp Ball stuffed with Foie Gras was a surprising delight — crispy on the outside, silky rich within, with a buttery finish from the foie gras that lingers beautifully. Next came the Crispy Fried Scallop with Salted Egg Yolk and Meat Floss, is addictive and brings you with the  umami, and sweetness into perfect balance.

The Salad Prawn with Pineapple added a refreshing tropical twist — cool, creamy, and slightly tart — while the Stuffed Fish Paste with Salted Egg Yolk and Dried Oysters provided an earthy, briny flavour reminiscent of traditional festive dishes.

Double-Boiled Whole Abalone with Fish Maw and Morel Chicken Soup

The Double-Boiled Whole Abalone with Fish Maw and Morel Chicken Soup is such a comforting and yet luxury delights. It brings you with the light yet flavourful, delicately herbal, and brimming with premium ingredients. The whole abalone was tender and flavorful, the fish maw buttery soft, and the addition of earthy morel mushrooms elevated the broth with a depth and richness that lingered long after the final spoonful.

Roasted Silver Hill London Duck with Chilled Sliced Chicken and Jellyfish

Next, the Roasted Silver Hill London Duck took centre stage — and rightly so. Known as the “wagyu of duck,” Silver Hill delivers duck meat that’s supremely tender, juicy, and marbled with natural fats. Here, it’s roasted to a golden crisp, with the skin offering that perfect crackle upon bite. Served alongside Chilled Sliced Chicken and Jellyfish, the dish plays with temperature and texture, offering richness and freshness in one beautifully balanced plate.

Steamed Orange Roughy Fish with Clams and Fish Curd

The Steamed Orange Roughy Fish was another must have here The rare deep-sea delicacy, prized for its firm, white flesh and mild sweetness. It was steamed to perfection and paired with clams and silky fish curd, adding layers of oceanic umami to each bite. A drizzle of soy and scallion oil brought the dish together — light, pure, and deeply satisfying.

Steamed Whole Abalone with Dried Scallop and Homemade Bean Curd

The grandeur continues with the Steamed Whole Abalone with Dried Scallop and Homemade Bean Curd, a dish that embodies the elegance of Chinese celebratory cuisine. The scallop-infused sauce was rich and briny, enhancing the natural sweetness of the abalone. The bean curd, handmade in-house, was smooth and custardy — a delicate canvas for the powerful seafood flavours.

Stewed Longevity Noodles

No celebration is complete without noodles — and the Stewed Longevity Egg Noodles with Crab Meat and Truffle offered a lavish twist on the traditional. Fragrant with truffle and tossed with shredded crab meat, this dish is symbolic, indulgent, and undeniably delicious.

Double-Boiled Peach Gum With Dried Fig and Pear and Steamed Longevity Buns

For dessert, the Double-Boiled Peach Gum with Dried Fig and Pear brought a gentle, nourishing sweetness — not too heavy, yet satisfyingly wholesome. The meal concludes with Steamed Longevity Buns, each bite soft and pillowy, a joyful finale that brings smiles all around the table.

Celebrate With More: Win a Luxury Chongqing Holiday

Diners during this promotion period will automatically be eligible to win a 4D3N full-board luxury getaway to Chongqing for two ( worth RM 10,000), with two lucky winners set to be announced in July 2025.
