Xiang Xiang Hunan Cuisine Opening in Malaysia end of Q1 2024

January 8, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

In a flavorful fusion of tradition and innovation, Xiang Xiang Hunan Cuisine is poised to tantalize Malaysian taste buds by the end of Q1 2024. Founded in 2009 by Hunan natives James Chao and Stella Tang, this culinary haven is set to introduce the diverse and bold flavors of authentic Hunan Cuisine to the Malaysian dining landscape.

The roots of Xiang Xiang Hunan Cuisine trace back to the founders’ university days in Singapore. Recognizing a gap in the market for authentic Hunanese food, James and Stella embarked on a culinary journey. The first outlet in Chinatown, established in 2009, marked the inception of a decade-long exploration into the art of Hunan Cuisine. Xiang Xiang’s expansion was deliberate, with a second outlet gracing Bugis in 2013. The flagship outlet in Chinatown underwent a significant expansion in 2016, solidifying its status as a culinary cornerstone.

What makes Xiang Xiang different is that they use the best ingredients that can be found all around the world to serve their customers.

With their  great success, Xiang Xiang had also sprouted their outlets in various locations such as in strategically in Bedok, Sengkang Grand, Suntec City, and Holland Village. This rapid growth reflected the brand’s commitment to delivering beloved Hunanese flavors that resonate with local preferences.

The Essence of Hunan Cuisine:

Hunan cuisine, also known as Xiang cuisine, hails from the Xiang River region in the western part of Hunan Province. Its defining characteristics include:

Spiciness: A tantalizing dance of chili peppers, offering a unique “lingering spice aftertaste.”

Fresh and Aromatic: An aromatic medley of fresh, seasonal ingredients, garlic, shallots, and a variety of herbs.

Sour Flavors: Delightful sour notes, often achieved through the artful use of vinegar.

Diverse Ingredients: An eclectic mix of meats, vegetables, tofu, and an array of spices.

Staple Foods: Rice takes center stage, complementing a variety of flavorful dishes.

And some of the must try in Xiang Xiang inclusive of their Signature Fishhead with Chopped Garlic, Hunan Style Fried pork with Green Chili and many more.

With success echoing in Singapore, James and Stella eagerly anticipate bringing the authentic taste of Xiang Cuisine to Malaysian diners. A promise of a culinary journey marked by quality, authenticity, and an unwavering commitment to delighting the discerning Malaysian palate.

Not just that, Qian Shan PTE LTD, the culinary force behind Xiang Xiang Hunan Cuisine, proudly received the SPBA Singapore Prestige Brand Award 2023 and earned accolades as an SME 500 Award Winner for their outstanding contributions to the Singaporean F&B scene. In Singapore, plans include opening six additional outlets in 2024, reaching a total of 15 locations. In Malaysia, the first-year expansion aims for three outlets by the end of 2024.

James Chao and Stella Tang also express gratitude for ongoing support and eagerly anticipate sharing the unique flavors of Xiang Cuisine with Malaysian diners. As Xiang Xiang Hunan Cuisine expands its culinary footprint, it promises to be a destination where authenticity meets gastronomic delight. The stage is set for an exquisite experience that transcends borders and tantalizes taste buds.
