Fugu @ Ampang : The Hidden Jewel of Japanese Cuisine

August 27, 2022 by StrawberrY Gal

A hidden jewel in Ampang and I can say the restaurant is definitely worth the visit if you are a Japanese Food Lover. Located at Ampang, Fugu is definitely one of the Japanese restaurants which is worth the visit for their awesome Japanese delicacies which definitely did not disappoint us at all.

The restaurant comes simply cosy and the owners had put loads of effort in designing their outlet where you can find a sushi bar counter where you can watch how the chef prepares your sushi and sashimi, and then to the teppanyaki counter which brings you with the action chef makes your dishes.

Sashimi

We started off with their sashimi which comes superbly good and fresh. Beautifully cut, the sashimi comes amazingly fresh. We have their Ama ebi, Hamachi, Butterfish, Salmon, Hotate as well as Tobiko. Each item is so good and we love every piece of it. The Salmon and butterfish just melt in the mouth which is superbly good and double thumbs up.

Agemono

Ebi Tempura (RM 45)

Beautifully battered and deep fried till golden brown. The Ebi Tempura comes amazingly good and the prawns come simply juicy and delicious. The meat is awesome and they come with crunchy bites. So so good and my little girl just loves it so much!

Teppanyaki

Fans of Teppanyaki, you can go for their teppanyaki delights where they have a wide choice to go for from Chicken, Scallop Motoyaki, Norwegian Salmon, King Prawn and more. We had their Teppanyaki Seafood here it comes with prawns, squid and salmon, The dish comes completely delicious where the ingredients are fresh and well teppan. Filled with flavours, and you can enjoy them with their sides such as mushroom, carrot and broccoli.

The King Prawn is a must to have here. The huge prawns is perfectly grilled and topped with generous cheese and topped with ebiko. They are so flavourful and so juicy. Yummy!

Tori Karaage

My husband and daughter are certainly in love with the Tori Karaage. The chicken is deep–fried till perfection leaving you crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside texture. Delicious.

Garlic Fried Rice

The Garlic Fried Rice is definitely our favourite! It has been a while since we enjoy a nice garlic fried rice. Here, the garlic fried rice is worth going for where the rice is perfectly stir-fried and you can taste the fragrant garlic in it. We love how they are done and we will definitely come back for their garlic fried rice for sure.

After a wholesome delicious meal, we ended with some sweets which are their mochi and a scope of chocolate ice cream.

Overall, the food here is indeed impressive. It indeed brings you a great ambience and awesome food which we will definitely come back again for more.
