A different CNY Dishes with De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan

February 1, 2021 by StrawberrY Gal

This Chinese New Year is another different way to celebrate the year. But; nothing will beats the festive mood right. Don’t worry! Chef Wan had curated many delicious set menu for you to celebrate your Chinese New Year in the different way!

For those who are now aware, Chef Wan had opened up a successful restaurant by the name of De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan. De.Wan 1958 by Chef Wan presents the experience of a modern Malaysian culinary adventure brought to life by the multiple award-winning chef and culinary ambassador for Tourism Malaysia, Datuk Redzuawan Ismail or better known as Chef Wan. Spreading over 13,000 sq feet of space at LINC Mall, Kuala Lumpur, we are not only a restaurant to savour diversified Malaysian cuisine but also a state-of-the-art event space designed for an immersive experience. Be it a corporate meeting, product launch, art exhibition, birthday, or even the wedding you’ve been dreaming of, this is the venue to celebrate all your important milestones.

And this Chinese New Year, we celebrate at home with a different style. Instead of enjoying the Chinese Cuisine like every year, we are enjoying them in the local Malaysian delights which is something different.

De.Wan & ONLY Prosperity Yee Sang ( RM 88 (4-6 pax)| RM 128 ( 10-12 pax)

Let’s start off with their yee sang where the yee sang comes with the pack of goodness where one can enjoy them in the different way. Instead of salmon, jellyfish topping , Chef Wan curated the yee sang with the cucur udang instead and sides with the otak otak, pomelo, shredded cucumber, tau kua, and many more. The yee sang is unique but they are so appetizing and delicious. Something different!

Asides from that ; one can also grab their FAMILY SET (RM 238) which is suits for 4-5 pax. The set comes with 8 items where every item is beautifully curated with love.

APPETIZERS

Satay (Chicken OR Beef OR Mix)

We started off with the satay where they are just marvelous . One can enjoy their delicious premium satay which is beautifully charcoal-grilled till perfection with the local spices and served together with the traditional steamed rice cakes, fresh cucumber s slices, and red onions for a flavourful spread.

Kerabu Pucuk Paku with Kerang

One of my family favourites  where they are so nice and appetizing. The sweet pucuk paku completes with the fragrant aromatic bunga kantan and fleshy pulpy cockles. They are then mixed in Chef Wan’s special kerabu sauce with a touch of lime and fragrant kerisik for a great starter.

Mains

Ikan Bakar Sea Bass

Moving to the main, we enjoyed how the ikan bakar is made. The seabass is beautifully barbecued over a charcoal grill and then it is served with the three choices of Chef Wan’s signature dipping sauces such as the sambal hijau, sambal belachan and the sambal kicap. They are perfectly barbecued and each mouthful is so fragrant and addictive.

Ayam Badam Pudina Istimewa

The Ayam Badam Pudina Istemewa comes with the flavourfully marinated chicken, spiced with cardamom seeds, fragrant coriander and bay leaves. It is then fried to a golden brown and served with the dash of condensed milk, almonds, and a touch of mint with it.

Daging Puteri Manis

Beef love should not miss this dish. The Daging Puteri Manis comes with the premium beef tenderoloin cooked in creamy coconut milk to create a tender stew, infused with the rich flavours of the local spices and mouth watering kerisik. It is such a perfect dish to enjoy with the steam rice. The dish is really delicious and aromatic which makes it to my favourite.

Sayur Lodeh Mak Lodeh

A homey dish to enjoy where the Sayur Lodeh Mak Lodeh is worth to order and I love it so much. The fresh eggplant, cabbage, tempe, young jackfruit and baby shrimps, cooked with turmeric and creamy coconut milk. The dish comes amazingly good and you can just enjoy them with a bowl of rice.

RICE

Choose your choice of rice from the spread Nasi Tomato OR Nasi Telur Terengganu OR Nasi Puteh. And for us, we had chose to have the Nasi Tomato. The portion comes simply generous where they are so aromatic.

DESSERTS

Longan Pandan Selasih

We ends with the refreshing Longan Pandan Selasih which is pretty refreshing and nice.
