Editor Picks: Ipoh One Day Makan Trip from the Locals

July 15, 2016 by StrawberrY Gal

Mountain Soya Milk / Tau Fu Fa
In Ipoh, no one will miss this! Their Tau Fu Fa or even their Soya Milk is one of the popular ones in Ipoh. The fragrant soya milk or even the silky tau fu fa. Ya, they have drive through! Just follow the cars queue and they come out and served you but take note the line is always long even you wait on the line,  or drive thru.

Kaya Puff @ Ming Yue
Another things must go for in Ipoh is of course Kaya Kok. Ming Yue not only selling good kaya puff but they have a good selection of peanut cookies too ( saltier version) with the crunchy bites. Love both of them, grab them. They are made fresh daily!

Hong Kee  Ipoh Mah Chee
An old stall where they served a great creamy peanut soup. We went there few rounds, but only once they are open. So, why not try your luck for a warm delicious peanut soup.

Restaurant Eat Time
This is recommended by a good friend of ours. Serving yong tau fu, asam laksa and even beef brisket, where the owner started on bicycles back 20 years ago and now they have a shop selling this. And the beef brisket is just so good. Laksa is also recommended here.

Sun Yeong Wai
When comes to Lunch, duck rice here is also one of the famous one. Sun Yeong Wai did not disappoint us with a good duck rice where the  meat are tender and juicy. The moist texture of the duck is perfectly good where I give a double thumb up.

You will indeed will love them all and have a walk along the famous street in Ipoh (Concubine Lane ) and grab a view of Zach Ernest Street Art which is at the Old Ipoh.
