MIKEY’S FROZEN CUSTARD @ MID VALLEY

April 5, 2016 by StrawberrY Gal

Bringing the original New York Pizza back to KL, Mikey’s Frozen Custard is indeed something worth to try. Located just next to McDonalds in Mid Valley Megamall, you can find Mikey’s New York Pizza and Mikey’s Frozen Custard just next to it.

Mikey’s Frozen Custard has been a labour of love. It took nine months of research and development, including a stint in the Wisconsin Frozen Dessert Institute to get it just right. Partnering with a with a local milk supplier, Bright Cow, they created everything from scratch. The initial appearance is just like soft serve but the taste is complete different. The creamy taste which comes from the milk, cream, sugar and egg in it. It is perfectly a premium product after all.

The project in producing the frozen custard took them 9 months in the research and development. Partnering with a with a local milk supplier, Bright Cow, they created everything from scratch.

With 24 different toppings and a quartet of base flavours: chocolate pudding; vanilla dream; au natural; and a rotating flavour, this month espresso  is indeed a great variety.

Start off with selecting cup (RM6.88), or the Mikey Bun (their take on the classic ice cream sandwich RM8.88). Next we decide on the custard flavour, and lastly the toppings (three toppings RM9.88 cup, RM11.88 bun). They have 24 different types of toppings to go with it from the Billionaire Beef Bacon, Corn Flakes, Sea Salt, Teh Tarik Sauce, Chili Mix and more.

Starting simple, i had mine with the espresso base and every mouth come simply dense and creamy and the fragrant hint of espresso in it. Then I topped with my favourite toppings nuts and strawberry sauce. I am just loving how it taste.

I also tried making my own bun which is a simple one that comes with chocolate base bun, a sweet sandwich which is awesomely good. The bun comes hot at the outside and cold within.
