Malaysian Director Breaks Through Barriers with an Impressive Short Film, Filmed Entirely with the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G

May 10, 2021 by StrawberrY Gal

The Galaxy S21 Series 5G stands at the pinnacle of the smartphone photography world, but what many people don’t realize is that its video-taking capabilities should not be overlooked either. Offering world-class features, the Galaxy S21 Series 5G is the quintessential device for those who love creating mobile video content as well as those who aspire to exercise creativity through films.

Putting the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G’s video-taking capabilities to the test, established local film director Neo produced a moving short film, filmed entirely with the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. “We had to do some proper studying on how this smartphone’s camera system works as this was our first time doing something like this. But to our pleasant surprise, we were able to capture the smallest details in darkness while balancing the highlights. What came out in the end were very sharp, crisp, and dynamic images,” said Neo, director of Close Shave.

Close Shave is a playful and entertaining short film about a first-jobber struggling to adapt to the new norm of working from home. According to Neo, the inspiration for this film is to encourage viewers that life can still be interesting, even though we are stuck at home. “A lot of things can happen in a small room – and that’s the theme of this film,” he added. “The Galaxy S21 has taught me that just because an equipment is small, that doesn’t mean that quality has to be compromised,” Neo concluded.

What are some of the Neo’s favorite features that make the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G an ideal device for videoshooting? Let’s explore:

8K Video Recording for Ultra-Detailed Content

The Galaxy S21 Series 5G is capable of recording smooth, ultra-sharp 8K videos – the highest resolution possible on a smartphone, boasting a pixel density that is even higher than most cinema movies! Being able to record videos in 8K means being able to capture as much detail as possible to reproduce the true beauty and accuracy of a scene – every blade of grass, grain of sand, and scar on a person’s face can be captured and seen!

With the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G, this is done with its state-of-the-art 108-megapixel rear camera which captures 8K videos with a respectable 24 frames per second (FPS), while also giving users the option to zoom up to 6x smoothly.

Turn a Gorgeous 8K Movie Scene into a Stunning 33MP Photograph

You’re watching the gorgeous 8K video you just took of the mountainscapes and… Hold up! See a scene in the video that you really like? Simply use the Galaxy S21’s 8K Video Snap feature at turn that video frame into the equivalent of a 33-megapixel photo!

Now, you won’t need to worry about the hassle of doing two tasks at once.

Record videos and photos at the same time with the Galaxy S21’s 8K video recording and video snap!

Slow-Mo Feature Turns Everyday Moments into Epic Movie Scenes

You can dramatize seemingly-normal scenes into an epic movie spectacle with the Galaxy S21’s slow-mo feature! Slow a moment down by up to 8x in 1080p to dramatize the details of a short moment. Feeling even more dramatic than usual? Use the Galaxy S21’s Super Slow-Mo feature to slow down a scene by 32x in HD resolution! (720p)

This is how the fine details of a short moment are stretched, magnified, and enhanced; moments such as falling down, throwing a ball, shattering a vase, or simply spilling a cup of coffee.

These features were cleverly used to make Close Shave special. Through this short film, Neo has taught us that we don’t need heavy and expensive video equipment to produce top-quality content. All you need is the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G in your pocket to conveniently product content anytime, anywhere!
