This Merdeka season, Element Kuala Lumpur is proud to introduce its newest afternoon tea experience, Malaysian Taste Journey Afternoon Tea, a collaboration between Element Kuala Lumpur & The Tiffin Art Company. This afternoon tea celebrates Malaysia’s rich traditional food through a modern presentation inspired by the flavours of Malaysia. This afternoon tea brings together familiar local favourites with a fresh, modern touch.
Served against the breathtaking backdrop of Kuala Lumpur’s skyline from Level 40, the Malaysian Taste Journey Afternoon Tea is available at TRACE Restaurant & Bar, Element Kuala Lumpur for RM198 nett. Available daily from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
Inspired by Malaysia’s food culture, the Malaysian Taste Journey offers a balanced selection of savoury taste and freshly made desserts, presented in elegant tiffin carriers that celebrate a timeless Malaysian dining tradition.
The journey begins with handcrafted savouries. Enjoy the Nyonya Pie Tee, filled with Mango salsa inspired by Peranakan flavours, followed by the Roti Sardin, a mini brioche topped with sardine mayo and cheese. The famous Pasembur Penang is reimagined with cucur udang, boiled egg, fish cake, jicama, cucumber, and signature pasembur gravy.
From East Malaysia comes the Sabah Honey BBQ Chicken Wing, roasted and coated with sweet honey barbecue for a perfect balance of smoky and savoury flavours. Completing the savoury selection is the Bidor Duck Roll, featuring roasted Bidor duck from Perak with cucumber, spring onion, and hoisin sauce in a refined local-inspired bite.
The experience continues with an All You Can Eat Dessert selection, featuring Malaysia’s favourite sweet treats. Guests can indulge in the Onde Onde Mousse, a modern take on the classic pandan and gula Melaka dessert, alongside the refreshing Cameron Highlands Strawberry Mini Swiss Roll and the rich Raub Durian Cream Puff, celebrating produce from two well-loved regions
Traditional favourites such as Sarawak Kek Lapis and Sago Gula Melaka with Palm Sugar Syrup offer comforting local flavours, while the Pahang Nangka Madu & Cheese Tart combines the sweetness of premium honey jackfruit with creamy cheese for a modern local twist.
Adding a special touch to the experience is a beautifully crafted batik-inspired tiffin designed by The Tiffin Art Company. Celebrating Malaysia’s rich artistic heritage, this collectible tiffin serves as both an elegant presentation piece and a keepsake for guests to take home, alongside panoramic views of Kuala Lumpur.
