LITTLE HERITAGE HOUSE, SECTION 17

There seems to be a certain kind of magic is Seksyen 17, Petaling Jaya. So many new and exciting establishments have sprouted u in the area, leaving diners spoilt for choices. Little Heritage House is among the many outlets which had opened its door in Section 17 such as The Gastro Project, Yokotaya and Decanter.

Little Heritage House goes down a more unpretentious route. The architecture reminiscent of classic Melaka Nyonya shop-houses can be seen in Little Heritage House. Where in here, they have 2- floor features the owner’s impressive private collections o antiques. The homey feel of the Little Heritage House enhanced with the friendly staff and servers as well the old Malay oldies background music such as Dondang Sayang and more.

Every piece is a beauty – the grandeur furniture, the olden kitchenware, the antique lamps and window panes and the stained cowboy doors. Once you stepped into the restaurant; it is alike back to 80s during our grandmother’s era where you can see lots of antiques which is just beautiful.

All our dishes arrived simultaneously, started with the Kiam Chye Arc (sour vegetable and duck soup). The Kiam chye ark comes well with the hearty and momorable dish to be enjoyed. The salty richness of the soup goes well with a simple bowl of steamed white rice. Each item in the soup is such a flavorful and appetizing one to tempt our tastebuds.

The Tamarind Fried/ The Asam Prawns (Small RM48, Large: RM88 ) is one of my favorites in Little Heritage House. Huge prawns complete with freshness and well marinated is just superb. The sauce compliments very well with the prawns and its sauce is well infused into the prawns too. Such a great delights to go in Little Heritage House. Sinfully addictive !

The Nyonya Eggplant (Small: RM23, Large: RM 33) is something special to me; as I nearly forgotten about the nyonya dish which is usually served by grandma. Since moving to KL , I almost forget about this dish and regains lots of memories when it is served. With the tamarind juice added to the nyonya eggplant and cooked for hours, the eggplant is soft and absorb with the flavors from the gravy itself. Is such an appetizing delights to try off when you are in Little Heritage House.

The mouth watering Assam Tumis, which is served with Sting Rays is just awesome. Filled with the sourish blend of sweet sour curry, the gravy is comes slightly ticker than the usual asam pedas we had. The stingray comes fresh without any fishy taste in it leaving the dish even better. Topped with the thinly shredded bunga kantan on top.
