Citarasa Malaya at The Chow Kit this Ramadan

February 12, 2026 by StrawberrY Gal

This Ramadan, The Chow Kit Kitchen & Bar invites guests to gather, pause, and break fast over a thoughtfully curated celebration of Malaysian flavours. Rooted in tradition yet presented with quiet refinement, this seasonal buffet is a heartfelt tribute to the dishes that define our shared table—meant to be enjoyed slowly, together.

Guests begin the evening with a gentle welcome: a refreshing Pandan Oatside Glass Jelly drink, created in collaboration with OATSIDE, offering a light and comforting start to the meal. From there, the buffet unfolds into a rich tapestry of flavours drawn from across Malaysia, where bold spices, slow cooking, and time-honoured techniques take centre stage.

Among the highlights are deeply satisfying classics such as Rendang Tok, Daging Salai Masak Lemak Cili Api, and Gulai Daging, each prepared with care to honour their origins. Live stations bring added warmth and theatre to the evening, featuring smoky Ayam Percik Chicken and freshly grilled Ikan Bakar, served hot and fragrant as the sun sets. Comforting favourites like Laksa Johor, Sup Kambing, Beef Serunding, Kerabu Mangga are only some of the savoury offerings, while traditional sweet treats—Pengat Pisang, Bubur Kacang Hijau, and Bubur Pulut Hitam—offer a soothing close to the meal, echoing the familiar rhythms of Ramadan evenings at home.

Set within the softly lit interiors of The Chow Kit- an Ormond Hotel, the experience is one of understated elegance—where heritage flavours meet a calm, intimate atmosphere, and breaking fast becomes a moment to reconnect, reflect, and savour.

Join us this Ramadan at The Chow Kit Kitchen & Bar for an evening shaped by tradition, generosity, and the joy of sharing good food in a beautiful setting. Citarasa Malaya is priced at RM148++ daily and is available from 23rd February to 15th March.
