Festive Feasting at The Chow Kit

December 1, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

This holiday season, The Chow Kit Kitchen & Bar introduces its 2025 edition of Festive Feasting—a thoughtfully curated four-course menu that brings together the comfort of familiar Malaysian flavours with refined, contemporary presentation. Designed for gatherings, celebrations, and year-end indulgence, this year’s festive menu highlights the richness of local ingredients and the warmth of shared dining.

The experience begins with a playful yet elegant bite: the Smoked Duck Pie Tee. Nestled in a crisp pie tee shell, smoked duck is paired with a bright mango salsa, crushed cashew nuts, and a citrus lime dressing. The combination of smoky, sweet, and tangy elements sets a lively tone for the meal while paying homage to a well-loved Malaysian classic.

The second course continues on a fresh and flavour-forward note with the Udang Bakar Salad. Grilled tiger prawns take centre stage, served with tomatoes and a cilantro-sesame salad that adds both fragrance and texture. Light, balanced, and slightly charred from the grill, this course bridges festive indulgence with seasonal freshness.

For the main course, diners may choose between two hearty, comforting dishes crafted for celebratory dining. The Rendang Wagyu Roast offers an elevated take on a traditional favourite, combining the richness of wagyu with the deep, aromatic flavours of rendang—slow-cooked, tender, and full-bodied. Alternatively, the Braised Grouper Gulai presents a vibrant and aromatic seafood option, both served with Nasi Dagang Bakar and a selection of seasonal local herbs and vegetables. Each main reflects the essence of Malaysian festive cuisine, reinterpreted with sophistication.

On selected days, a third option joins the line-up: the Sabah Lobster Gulai, served with cassava leaves and torched ginger. Luxurious yet rooted in East Malaysian flavours, this dish is one for special occasions and is offered in limited quantities for guests looking for an elevated festive experience.

The meal concludes with a returning house favourite: the Bubur Cha-Cha Parfait. Layers of coconut cream, sweet potato, taro, and sago are reimagined into a chilled parfait format, offering a refreshing and nostalgic finale that blends tradition with modern dessert craft.

Beyond dining in, The Chow Kit Kitchen & Bar also brings back Festive Gifting, featuring a 2kg Bone-In Leg of Roast Lamb for RM380++ – perfect for home celebrations. The lamb comes complete with roast potatoes, vegetables, and house-made gravy, making it an effortless centrepiece for intimate gatherings or family feasts.

To mark the season, guests are also invited to celebrate Christmas early at the Christmas Sunday Roast on 21 December. This family-friendly afternoon features a special cookie-decorating corner for children, and as per usual at all Sunday Roast events at The Chow Kit Kitchen & Bar, kids eat free. It’s an occasion crafted for both adults and little ones to enjoy the warmth of the holidays together.

The 2025 Festive Feasting menu is available for a limited period, offering diners a delicious and memorable way to celebrate the season in the heart of The Chow Kit. Priced at RM188++ per person, it is available for dinner daily in December. Reservations are encouraged.
