Selera Dua Tradisi: A Ramadan Celebration of Heritage at DoubleTree by Hilton Putrajaya

January 25, 2026 by StrawberrY Gal

This Ramadan, DoubleTree by Hilton Putrajaya invites guests to gather in the spirit of reflection and togetherness with Selera Dua Tradisi, a thoughtfully curated dinner buffet at Makan Kitchen that brings two culinary traditions into harmonious dialogue.

Translated as “two tastes,” Selera Dua Tradisi is more than a dining experience — it is a celebration of shared values found across cultures. By uniting Chinese Muslim specialities with beloved Malaysian favourites, the buffet reflects a deeper narrative of heritage, family and communal dining, offering guests a meaningful way to break fast during the holy month.

A Journey Through Chinese Muslim Culinary Heritage

At the heart of Selera Dua Tradisi lies the rich culinary legacy of Northern Chinese Muslim cuisine, known for its robust spices, hearty preparations and time-honoured techniques. Guests can expect dishes shaped by slow cooking, careful seasoning and handmade craftsmanship — flavours that are bold yet comforting, designed to nourish both body and soul.

Highlights from this culinary tradition include Wok-Fried Cumin Lamb, fragrant and deeply spiced; Spicy Cumin Chicken, delivering warmth and aromatic depth; and Beef Noodles, where tender meat meets comforting broth. Handmade steamed buns and dumplings, alongside meat-filled Chinese Muslim fried bread, complete the experience, offering textural contrast and rustic charm.

Familiar Comforts, Elevated for Ramadan

Complementing these Northern Chinese offerings are local favourites that resonate with Malaysian palates, grounding the experience in familiarity. Standout dishes include the Mongolian-style marinated whole baked baby lamb, a striking centrepiece perfect for sharing, and the slow-cooked beef leg with chilli and coffee rub, rich with layered flavours.

Comforting soups such as beef bone marrow soup and white seafood tom yam round out the spread, providing warmth and balance ;  ideal for communal dining as families and friends gather at sunset.

Where Diversity Meets the Table

Prepared by the culinary team at DoubleTree by Hilton Putrajaya, Selera Dua Tradisi is a reflection of Malaysia’s multicultural fabric, where food becomes a bridge between traditions. From aromatic broths and wok-fired specialities to indulgent centrepiece dishes, each element is designed to honour heritage while encouraging connection.

The result is a Ramadan dining experience that feels both distinctive and deeply familiar — one that invites guests to slow down, savour, and reconnect over shared meals.

Festive Touches and Exclusive Rewards

Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, groups of 20 persons and above dining during the buffet will receive a set of festive red packets, each containing vouchers and special offerings. One lucky guest will also stand a chance to win the grand prize — a three-day, two-night stay in a Family Suite at DoubleTree by Hilton Putrajaya Lakeside.

Hilton Honors Gold and Diamond members enjoy up to 20% savings, while group bookings of 20 persons and above receive 15% off, subject to terms and conditions. Guests may also elevate their Ramadan celebration with a stay-and-dine package from RM420+, inclusive of overnight accommodation, pre-dawn breakfast and dinner.
