Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City partners with Samsung Malaysia for “Time to Move” Wellness Programme

October 17, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City (SMC) is proud to announce the launch of the Time to Move 90-day wellness programme, designed to guide participants on a holistic health journey, starting with a body check-up and ending with a final assessment that reflects their transformative progress. The programme, in collaboration with Samsung Malaysia Electronics, empowers participants to take charge of their well-being by providing tools, professional guidance, and consistent support over 90 days to ensure long-lasting improvements in their health.

Time to Move encourages participants to start their wellness journey by understanding their baseline health through a body check-up. Over the course of the 90-day programme, participants will be supported by healthcare professionals, engaged in fitness challenges, and equipped with technology to monitor their progress. The programme culminates with a final assessment, giving participants the opportunity to see measurable outcomes, track improvements, and experience the satisfaction of becoming healthier, stronger, and more energetic.

The programme was launched here at SMC by

• Dr. Seow Vei Ken, Chief Executive Officer, SMC

• Ms. Tan Mei Shin, Senior Director of Business Development & Corporate Communication, SMC

• Dr. Lim Pek Yean, Head of Wellness and Dental Centre, SMC

• Mr. KM Liew, Vice President & Head of Mobile eXperience Business, Samsung Malaysia Electronics

• Mr. Kevin Taehoon Kim, Business Director, Mobile eXperience Business, Samsung Malaysia Electronics

• Mr. Luke Au, Head of Product Marketing, Mobile eXperience Business, Samsung Malaysia Electronics

SMC Chief Executive Officer Dr Seow Vei Ken said “At Sunway Medical Centre, we would like to empower individuals to take control of their health in a meaningful and sustainable way. The Time to Move programme reflects our commitment to holistic wellness, starting with an initial body check-up to help participants understand where they stand, and ending with a final assessment that shows how far they’ve come. It’s not just about knowing your numbers at the start, but about making real changes over 90 days to become a healthier version of yourself.”

Time to Move is a 90-day programme designed for individuals who are 18 years old and above and wish to improve their health, provided they are not on any medication. Participants begin with a comprehensive health screening at Sunway Wellness Centre, including an Inbody test and a blood test to establish key health metrics. Over the following months, they will take part in a series of engaging fitness challenges and health talks by the healthcare professionals aimed at improving their health and fitness.

The recruitment process for the 90-day programme began since 3 October and more than 200 sign up were received. 60 participants have been chosen to embark on this exciting journey.

The selected participants will receive a Samsung Galaxy Watch7  to track daily activity, monitor calories burned, body composition and measure sleep quality. Monthly challenges focusing on physical activities and sleep score will keep participants motivated, while healthcare professionals will provide regular insights and guidance based on their progress.

In addition to the physical challenges, the programme includes group workout sessions led by experts, ensuring participants stay motivated and engaged throughout their journey. By the end of the 90 days, participants will undergo a final check-up to compare their results and celebrate their progress.

The participant who show the best progress will walk away with a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 and a 3-Day,

2-Night Getaway for Two at The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat worth RM 10,000.

“At Samsung, we drive innovation in health monitoring, offering advanced tools through sleep tracking, fitness coaching, or nutritional insights,” said KM Liew, Vice President and Head of Mobile eXperience Business, Samsung Malaysia Electronics. “The Time to Move 90-day wellness program reflects our commitment to helping users gain deeper insights into their health and make informed, positive lifestyle choices.”
