Experience The Colours Of Ramadan At The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre

March 14, 2022 by StrawberrY Gal

The Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre’s (the Centre) popular corporate Ramadan buka puasa and Hari Raya open house offerings return this year to take diners on a sumptuous journey of colours and tastes around Malaysia. To truly encapsulate the authentic and colourful dishes of Malaysia, the Centre’s creative culinary team searched all corners of the country to find the signature kampung-inspired dishes that will be served this Ramadan.

This Ramadan, diners can be assured of service excellence and sumptuous 5-star cuisine at the Centre’s buka puasa, which is affordably priced from RM145 nett per person and is available for corporate bookings from 4 to 30 April 2022. With two menu choices – the delectable Ramadan Al Mubarak and the exquisite Ramadan Al Kareem – clients have the option to personalise them with various ‘Chef Action Station’ add-ons. The Centre’s Hari Raya open house menu is available at RM190 nett per person and open for corporate bookings from 6 to 31 May 2022.

To provide even greater flexibility to clients this year, the Centre is offering a highly customisable package for its buka puasa and Hari Raya open house events. The promotion, which has been designed with client budgets in mind, is available for events with a minimum of 100 pax and prices start from RM100 per person

The Centre offers Ramadan guests a designated prayer room, prayer mats, sandals, on-site ablution facility and an Imam to lead Muslims in their Maghrib, Isya’ and Tarawih prayers, allowing guests to comfortably perform their religious duties before breaking fast.

Elaborating on the enticing menus, the Centre’s Executive Chef, Hisham Bin Jafaar, shared, “This Ramadan, diners at our buka puasa and Hari Raya open house events will enjoy an experience to remember with delicious dishes specially prepared by our award-winning culinary team. Menus will include mum’s authentic ‘Ayam masak rose badam kayu manis’; ‘Hirisan kambing salai kuah lemak cili api bersama rebung madu’; ‘Sup reneh daging rempah basah cili kicap’; ‘Rendang pedas kambing berempah bersama pucuk ubi dan daun kunyit’; and much more.”

Diners will also get to experience the Centre’s ‘Chef Action Stations’, where local delights, such as chicken and beef satay, Penang char kway teow and Hainanese chicken rice, will be prepared à la minute. In addition to the traditional favourites, this year’s buka puasa and open house menus offer contemporary and international choices for diners looking for something a little different. Dishes include Portuguese baked fish, Indonesian-style meehoon sup Ayam Penyet and the Centre’s famous roasted Harissa whole lamb served with sauce and condiments.

The Centre’s General Manager, Alan Pryor, added, “For all events at the Centre, we place the utmost care in delivering a safe and controlled environment with strict compliance to the latest standard operating procedures, and our corporate buka puasa and Hari Raya open house events will be no different.”

With all five of the venue’s kitchens; Chinese, Western, Cold, Pastry and Malay, certified halal by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia (JAKIM), Muslim guests are able to enjoy their meal with complete peace of mind.

“A Ramadan feast would not be complete without the ‘Goreng-gorengan’ station, where diners can enjoy pisang, cempedak, keladi and sukun fritters, keropok lekor and other deep-fried treats. Those looking for a sweet indulgence can delve into Ais Batu Campur (ABC) served with an array of condiments and ice cream, sago gula Melaka, agar-agar santan pandan, bubur jagung manis, tapai pulut, local kuih, fresh fruits and many more,” concluded Chef Hisham.
