Johnnie Walker Aged 15 Years Sherry Finish

October 9, 2020 by StrawberrY Gal

It is always a pleasure to be invited to whisky event. And this time, Johnnie Walker introduced the newest addition to its family of whiskies — Johnnie Walker Aged 15 Years Sherry Finish to members of the media and local influencers in Kuala Lumpur.

It is one of the special whisky that you must have them where they are made with a blend of the finest 15-year-old single malt whiskies such as Glen Elgin and Clynelish, and finished in ex-Sherry oak casks, this new expression made using the finest Scotch whiskies is available in both China, Taiwan, and now Malaysia.

Possessing a great depth of flavour finished off with honey and candied-fruit endnotes that linger after every sip, together with the aromas of fruit cake and dried fruits, Johnnie Walker Aged 15 Years Sherry Finish is a treat for the Asian palate and pairs well with Malaysian Chinese cuisine.

The single malt whiskies used in the blending of this whisky pairs well with the local Chinese cuisine, allowing the flavours to intertwine themselves, creating a whole new body of experiences on the palate. An array of dishes such as Deep Fried Marble Goby with Johnnie Walker Aged 15 Years Sherry Finish Flambé (火焰15年雪莉酱烧尖塘鳢) which is perfectly delicious. I love the flaky fish meat with the beautiful hint of the whisky in it. Perfect!

The Steamed Scotland Clams with Garlic & Glass Noodles (蒜蓉蒸英圣子皇) is a must to have too. They are so good and fresh. Every mouthful of it comes with garlic-ly taste which I am in love with.

Pan Fried Lamb Chop with Foie Gras Sauce (鹅肝酱烧羊仔扒 ) is just perfect for lamb lovers. The meat is so juicy and meat is so tender with no gammy taste at all. They are so good that I don’t mind enjoying more.

Sauteed H.K Kai Lan with Black Truffle (黑松岩耳炒芥兰) is another must try here too. I love how the kailan is sauteed and it brings you with the crispy crisp of the vegetable and yet is so fragrant as it is added with the Black Truffle.

The Royal Fried Rice (乾隆堂炒砂煲饭 ) is such a tummy warming dish to go for. Being a Chinese, Rice is of course our staple food, and the Royal Fried Rice are beautifully fried and they are so aromatic.

We ended our meals with their signature Australia Mango & Mango Sago with Ice Cream(澳洲香芒杨枝金露 ). Nice and sweet!

The meals are perfectly paired with the Johnnie Walker Aged 15 Years Sherry Finish, with robust flavours in every mouthful. With a rich, smooth and sweet flavour profile, Johnnie Walker Aged 15 Years Sherry Finish perfectly exhibits the flavours of candied fruits, dried fruits, and coco exclusive to sherry and a slight floral aroma along with the fragrance of baked apples, honey and vanilla, offering a sweet and aromatic experience.Guests were exposed to these amazing flavours via a mentoring session by Chong Wai Keng, Diageo Malaysia Brand Ambassador.

Rajesh Joshi, Marketing Director of Diageo Malaysia shared that this newest addition into the Walker family of whiskies is part of the brand’s tireless efforts in pushing the boundaries of flavours, as well as allowing its consumers to fully enjoy the flavours of the multiple distilleries across Scotland in one bottle, encapsulating their senses with every sip — ensuring for it to be a favourite among whisky lovers.
