LARK secures five Gold Medals at the 2026 San Francisco World Spirits Competition

June 26, 2026 by StrawberrY Gal

LARK Distilling Co. has secured five Gold Medals at the 2026 San Francisco World Spirits Competition (SFWSC), with recognition spanning the brand’s Signature Collection, its Global Travel Retail exclusive range, and a forthcoming Cask Strength expression. The awards mark another milestone for the Tasmanian distillery, reinforcing the strength of its portfolio ahead of its first duty-free expansion into Asia.

Founded in 2000, the San Francisco World Spirits Competition is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious spirits competitions. Organised by The Tasting Alliance, the competition draws thousands of entries annually from distilleries across the globe. All spirits are evaluated through a strict blind tasting process, with judges drawn from across the industry including distillers, bartenders, beverage directors and drinks journalists.

The five Gold medal winners are:

• No.151 Fire Trail – Available now at retail and bars in Australia and across Asia. RRP. $A170

• No.183 Devil’s Storm – Available now at retail and bars in Australia and across Asia. RRP. $A200

• No.172 Wild Haven – Atlas Series – Available exclusively at Australian airports, and soon at Changi Airport, Singapore. RRP $A280

• No.294 Ember Eclipse – Atlas Series – Available exclusively at Australian airports and soon at Changi Airport, Singapore. RRP $A680

• No.187 Devil’s Storm Cask Strength – Available from August 2026 exclusively online at larkdistilling.com and at our three venues in Hobart. RRP $A240

LARK Master Distiller Chris Thomson said the results were a reflection of the entire team’s work. “Five Gold Medals at San Francisco is a fantastic result for the whole team. The SFWSC is one of the toughest blind judging competitions in the world, so to have whiskies across our Signature Collection and GTR range recognised at this level is incredibly exciting. It’s a reflection of just how far Tasmanian whisky has come—and for us, we feel like we’re only just getting started.”

The awards come ahead of another significant milestone for the distillery, with LARK set to make its first duty-free entry into Asia through Lotte Duty Free, Changi Airport on 26 June. The launch will introduce the award-winning range to one of the world’s leading travel retail destinations, with No.166 DARK LARK following in July as the first international retailer release outside Australia to stock the cult- favourite release.
