Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Celebration at Lafite, Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur

Restaurant Lafite at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur presents a six-course dinner for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

The dinner, priced at RM520 nett per person, begins with Duck Liver Terrine with puy lentils coulis and warm corn brioche. This is followed by Marinated Smoked Hokkaido Scallop with lemon confit, sea urchin and Oscietra caviar.

Savour a soup — Veloute of French chestnut and black truffle – before the main course.

The main course is 63C Sous Vide Veal Shank, cepes mushrooms and light potato espuma. Then diners have a choice of either Duck 2 Ways, confit and grilled with kabocha pumpkin puree, Brussel sprouts and citrus duck juice or Baked Brittany Turbot with celeriac puree, onion grelot and shellfish emulsion.

Dessert is Passion Fruit and Mango Frangipani, Passion Fruit espuma and mango tuile. Then coffee or tea is served together with mignardises or small desserts.

The dinner is from 7pm to 10.30pm.

It will be a Christmas Day Buffet Lunch at Lafite from 12 noon to 2.30pm, at RM288 nett per person.

A wide variety of terrines, salads and appetisers begin the buffet. These include Christmas Duck Breast and Duck Liver Terrine, Capon Pate En Croute with Truffle, Cajun Turkey with melon salad and raisin vinaigrette, Marinated Scallops with grapefruit, citrus confit and avruga caviar, Roast Beef with fennel confit and red currant vinaigrette and Atlantic Salmon variation, among others.

Freshly shucked oysters are at the Oyster Station, as well as green lobsters, spanner crabs and yabbies. There is a Caviar Station and Japanese Station with different kinds of sushi.

Among the main course highlights of the Buffet Lunch are Roast Christmas Turkey with chestnuts and giblet sauce, Beef Wellington, Roast Rack of Lamb with ratatouille and Taggiasca olive and Duck Leg Confit with navel orange and duck jus lie.

Risotto with snow crab and rock lobster, scallop and asparagus is served at the Action Station.

A wide array of Christmas desserts is on the buffet, such as Eggnog Crème Brulee, Warm Christmas Pudding with vanilla pod butter sauce, Stollen Spiced Pannacotta and Cranberry Pecan Tart, among others.
