MONTE’S RESTAURANT WINE & BAR @ BANGSAR SHOPPING CENTRE (BSC)

September 15, 2014 By StrawberrY Gal - Food Review, Invited Review Leave a Comment

Monte’s Restaurant Wine & Bar not a need for further introduction where the lovely restaurant is located at the Foyer Level of Bangsar Shopping Complex. The restaurant is well known for its dishes and it had been a decade now since the opening. The restaurant located pretty hidden if you are in the mall and it is a good place for family meals, quiet dates and business lunches/dinners. The restaurant is really spacious with unpretentious furnishings and has plenty of seatings especially if you come in groups.

Started with their starters which are the Escargots with Garlic Toast (RM 19 for ½ dozens) where the escargots are big and succulent. The wine garlic sauce which is added in to the escargots and baked is just so awesome and addictive with the blend of light creaminess.

Next we had the Juicy Scallops (RM 39 (1/2 dozen))where the Sea Scallops which is served come pulpy and the row of six juicy scallops had causght my attention. The pan seared scallops till perfection and packed with juiciness is being served on a bed of sweet potato mash. Every bites was so awesome bringing us with the complete juiciness in it. Excellent!

Comes next is their Seafood Salad (RM 29) where it brings me with lots of surprises. The Seafood Saslad which comes with the mix of the mint octopus, prawns, smoked salmon, and topped with caviar on top of a bed of greenies. The salad is so awesome where every mouthful brings us an appetizing blend with the light spiciness in it.

Coming next is the Prawn Chowder (RM 18) where the creamy tomato soup with the river prawn. The soup comes simply creamy and awesome and the fragrance of the soup in it. Each mouthful of the soup is simply divine and I am giving a two thumbs up on it.

Next comes the Fresh Oxtail (RM18 ++) where the oxtail soup comes with the thick, savory and light spiciness to whet your appetite. The oxtails comes tender and juicy where each and every mouthful is filled with the aroma of oxtail in it.

Moving to the mains, wehad the Pan Seared Cod (RM 59) is well served together with Ratatouille and Chermoula dressing. The fish was fresh, lightly seasoned and nicely cooked. It is served with the Ratatouille and the Chermoula dressing comes very nice and appetizing with the blend of light zestiness in it especially from the salsa made from chopped tomatoes, aubergine and peppers. Drizzled with pesto dressing and add a squeeze of zesty lime to complete the flavours.

The Ribeye Steak (RM 63) which is prepared in Monte’s way is well done ti retain s on its taste. The ribeye is simply grilled and it is being served with the seasonal vegetables. The steak is perfectly well done at the right blend and the portion comes generous too. The meat is simply juicy and each mouthful is divinely good where every mouthful melts in the mouth.

As for the Spicy Salmon (RM38.00); the salmon is being marinated and grilled. It is then being served together with the savory sauce. The salmon comes absolutely divine with the flaky meat and each mouthful of the meat is simply good and fresh. I love the spicy salmon as it dod not bring too much of spiciness but the spiciness are just at the right amount resulting the sinfully good dish. Recommended.

For those who love to get some lamb rack, try their signature Charbroilled Lamb Rack (RM50.00) where the lamb rack are awesome as it is . The lamb rack comes really good where the fall of meat combines together with the juicy and tender meat. Oh my! This is so heavenly,

Ended with the Butter & Bread Pudding (RM 13.00) which being one of the signature desserts here. It is deliciously moist and decadent, doused in a light vanilla sauce and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It’s so good where we polished the plate easily. Yummz

As for the brownies (RM13.00) , we had the Brownies where the brownies comes awesome and it is being served wit a sccop of the vanilla ice cream. he brownie was packed full of chocolatey goodness, so fudgy and dense.
