THE MIX, HOLIDAY INN KUALA LUMPUR GLENMARIE

May 26, 2014 By StrawberrY Gal - Food Review, Invited Review Leave a Comment

Holiday Inn Kuala Lumpur Glenmarie brings us more excitement with more new items lately. The Mix in Holiday Inn Kuala Lumpur Glenmarie  had revamp part of their menu and this round; they come out with new offerings to try off.

The Mix; is such an exciting restaurant and rather exclusive style of restaurant to enjoy. With the good atmosphere; and live band that comes every night to entertain its patrons had made the dining experience more lively and enjoyable.

The appetizers comes with the Stuffed Mushroom ( RM 25.00). The chewy mushroom is being served with loads of cream cheese, cannellini beans, with walnuts and olive on the sides. The mushroom is being deep fried and sprinkled with loads of crushed walnuts on top. Juicy textures of the mushroom infused with the creamy cheese beneath are perfect. What’s make it more special is the crunchy bites of the crushed walnuts on top of the mushroom. Such a divine.

Deep fried items never go wrong with a cup of beer. The Coconut Chicken Strip is just good as it is where the strips of the chicken is being breadcrumb and then it is deep fried till golden brown leaving us with the cruchy bites and the juicy meat. Succulent and moist chicken meat to munch and it is pretty addictive too. Yumz! Dipped them with the honey soya for additional flavours.

Healthy salads comes to the table – The Greek Panzanella (RM 25.00). Simple and yet appetizing salad to try off. The Greek Panzanella which is served with the generous amount of green onions, tomatoes, cucumber, fresh basil and cronuts with it. Top with chef secret dressing makes it even much flavourful as it is.

Started with Ryu (RM 55.00); the cod fish is well cooked till perfection and it is being served together with hitake, eryngii mushroom, boiled potatoes and vegetables. The dish is one of my favorites where the cod fish comes well with the crisp skin and the fish comes flaky and moist. The cod fish is generously huge which is worth for the money and it is indeed an addictive cod fish to earn my thumbs up.

Balsamic Glazed Beef Short Ribs is such a great mains to try off. Beef lover would not muissed this where The Mix had made them served with the braised garlic, onions, zucchini and beans. The beef ribs is well done and marinated with their signature sauces, and it is just perfectly done with the meat fall off the skin with just a light cut. The rib comes moist in the inside and the meat is infused with the great marination in it. Tender “fall of bones” with the melts in the mouth sensation is something I am looking for when comes to ribs.

A unique dish served which is the Beef Nagimaki (RM 25.00). The twist of Japanese Western had put into the creation of the dish where the Japanese Beef rolls is cooked with the dashi soy sauce which brings us with the kufgt sweetness in it. The beef roll wrapped around the grilled asparagus giving us a much more appeling colours. Nice one to go for.

The Lemon Grass Lamb (RM 45.00) is well served with the risoto together with the pumpkin curry as the sides. The lamb makes a good twist with the fragrant lemon grass blend in it. What’s more is the portion of lamb did not give any gamey taste in it where with this, it make an awesome flavors.

Osso Buco Style Lamb Shanks (RM 50.00) served graciously to our table. The portion of lamb is being served with shallot risotto, spinach and arugula. Huge portion of lamb delights, the lamb does not served any gammy flavours and it comes well with tender and soft texture. The sauce compliments well with the lambs which makes the overall taste even better.

The Poblano Pesto (RM 35.00) is something special to go for here. Healthy mix of spaghetti with the kick of spiciness. The linguine pasta well cooked with heavy garlic and spicy flavours. The kick of spiciness is just nice at it is. For me, i felt the spiciness comes later after a few mouthful of it and I kept drinking water then. However it is a nice one to try them especially for spicy lover.

2 Da Quasse (RM 30.00) comes next with the thin crispy bites of pizza. Serves with the combination of half masaka chicken ” Spicy red sauce, mozzarella cheese and topped with fresh cilantro” and half garlic prawns and herbs. Deliciously done with the crispy bites, I love the duo combination which is unique.

Another pizza which is served is the Castelli Romani (RM 28)where the crispy pizza is served together with the Italian Sausage, Brocolli Raabe and Caramelized Onions with it. The pizza comes with the juicy bites from the sausage itself and each slices of pizza brings us a moist and juicy meat with the fragrant cheese.

Some sweet delights to ends of heavy tummy of the night. The Jivara Indulgence (RM30.00) basically a chocolate fudge sponge ‘cake’, layered with salty crusty bites and topped with milk chocolate peanut cream mousse. It is such an indulgence which melts in the mouth with the sweet temptation leaving in our mouth. I am pampered today!

Ends with the Raspberry Rhubard Almond Crumble (RM 30.00) where the carammelized sugar with raspberry puree paoached rhubard is served with single scope of vanilla ice cream. It is such a lovely indulgence with the hot and cold mix which had melts my heart.

The meals is awesome bringing us with great music, and ambience. Do pop down at The Mix to enjoy your awesome dinner there.
