Leading the Modern Cooking Space: Nestlé Malaysia Launches MAGGI® Air Fryer “Perap” Series

April 28, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

With air fryers now found in 42% of Malaysian households, the trend for fast, convenient home-cooked meals has never been stronger. Responding to this growing shift towards modern and convenient cooking, Nestlé Malaysia has launched its new MAGGI® Air Fryer-friendly range of recipes for incredible “perap”, featuring a new Satay variant alongside its repositioned marinade range. This marks Malaysia as one of the first markets globally to introduce this innovative range designed for air fryers, offering the authentic taste of Malaysian favourites made easy.

For generations, MAGGI® has been a trusted partner in Malaysian kitchens, and the new MAGGI® Air Fryer range builds on this legacy. Made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, these marinade pastes are crafted by MAGGI’s chefs true to the way they are traditionally prepared, to deliver the authentic taste of local dishes with culinary expertise, as if cooked from scratch. With no time-consuming steps required, they offer a convenient solution in just two easy steps: Marinate and Air Fry, making it easier than ever to serve beloved local flavours, even on the busiest of days.

Mr. Juan Aranols, Chief Executive Officer of Nestlé Malaysia, commented, “As air fryers become a staple in more homes, we are pleased to innovate with solutions that deliver on our promise to make delicious meals even more accessible to Malaysians. The MAGGI® Air Fryer range embodies Nestlé’s purpose of unlocking the power of food to enhance quality of life, allowing busy individuals and families to enjoy the flavours that they love with easy preparation. This launch reflects our deep bonds with Malaysian households and our ongoing commitment to continue enriching cooking experiences that are well-attuned with today’s lifestyles.”

Ms. Ivy Tan Link Cheh, Business Executive Officer of MAGGI® Malaysia, shared, “We believe that good food moments should be within everyone’s reach. While Malaysians love home-cooked meals, many face challenges with time and preparation. Made with fresh ingredients that deliver authentic taste, our new Air Fryer-friendly “perap” marinade series helps to simplify this by embracing the convenience of modern kitchen appliances, so that everyone, whether seasoned or new to the kitchen, can easily create Malaysian favourites at home. This innovation reaffirms our brand promise of being every Malaysian’s cooking companion, making it easier than ever to serve delicious, traditional flavours that bring families and friends together.”

The new MAGGI® Air Fryer-friendly “perap” marinade series features four Malaysian flavours, each crafted with fresh ingredients and a rich blend of traditional spices. The Ayam Goreng Berempah is made with fresh onions and a delicious blend of spices. Ayam Percik combines fresh onions, garlic, and lemongrass for a balanced mix of sweet and spicy flavours. The Black Pepper variant features a blend of black pepper and fresh onions. Rounding off the range, the new Satay variant is made with lemongrass, turmeric, and aromatic spices to deliver the iconic taste beloved by Malaysians.

This innovative launch marks another milestone in MAGGI®’s journey of more than 50 years of nourishing Malaysian families and championing connections through good food. The new range provides the convenience to spend less time in the kitchen, and more quality time enjoying good food moments with loved ones. The MAGGI® Air Fryer-friendly marinade mixes series is available at major hypermarkets and supermarkets nationwide at a recommended retail price of RM4.90 per pack, with a serving size of 6 portions.
