 A Taste of Japan featuring Guest Chef Koji Fukuda

From 20 to 25 May 2025, PARKROYAL COLLECTION Kuala Lumpur invites guests to embark on a remarkable journey of Japanese flavours with A Taste of Japan, a week-long culinary showcase led by celebrated Guest Chef Koji Fukuda. With over 30 years of expertise in traditional and modern Japanese cuisine, Chef Koji brings his mastery and passion to the heart of Kuala Lumpur for an immersive dining experience that highlights the elegance, precision, and cultural richness of Japanese gastronomy.

Held at Thyme, the hotel’s signature all-day dining restaurant, the celebration begins with specially curated Japanese-themed buffet dinners from 20 to 22 May, priced at MYR185 nett. Guests can indulge in a thoughtful selection of authentic dishes that reflect the essence of Japanese cooking. The culinary experience is elevated on 23 and 24 May with the Fabulous Meat and Seafood Buffet, priced at MYR238 nett. This premium spread showcases high-quality Australian beef and lamb — brought in partnership with Meat & Livestock Australia and Aussie Beef & Lamb — along with an abundance of ocean-fresh seafood, each item prepared with the finesse and care that defines Chef Koji’s approach.

Live stations will showcase an impressive variety of Japanese favourites, including a Sushi and Onigiri Station featuring torched beef sushi and Australian lamb onigiri with lamb miso. Guests can enjoy freshly sliced sashimi, crispy seasonal tempura, Osaka-style okonomiyaki from the teppanyaki grill, and Kyoto-style kitsune udon at the noodle bar. Signature hot dishes such as Hokkaido-style zangi karaage, sumo-style “chanko nabe” steam pod, Australian lamb dumplings, and Genghis Khan yakisoba reflect both authenticity and creativity in every serving.

The celebration culminates in a night of refined indulgence on 25 May with a five-course wine dinner held at Pacific Lounge in Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Kuala Lumpur. Priced at MYR368 nett, this exclusive evening invites guests to savour Chef Koji’s finest creations, thoughtfully paired with a curated selection of international wines. The menu begins with a Veuve du Vernay welcome drink and continues with highlights such as Dashi Maki Sandwich with caviar, Australian Beef Tataki, miso-glazed poached white fish in chanko broth, teriyaki Australian lamb with agedashi tofu, and a beautifully composed Mitarashi Parfait for dessert. Each course is complemented by wine pairings that enhance the flavours and provide a multi-sensory dining experience above the city skyline.

Guests who reserve in advance through the hotel’s eShop enjoy 10% savings on the wine dinner and 20% off buffet dinners. All prices are inclusive of prevailing government taxes.
