A Culinary Journey Through Southern Malaysia: Aroma Citarasa Selatan at Pavilion Hotel Kuala Lumpur

February 26, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

As the holy month of Ramadan approaches, Pavilion Hotel Kuala Lumpur invites guests on an extraordinary gastronomic journey through the flavors of Malaysia’s southern states. Held at The Courtyard Restaurant from 28 February to 28 March 2025, the Aroma Citarasa Selatan buffet promises a feast of authentic culinary delights from Johor, Melaka, and Negeri Sembilan, coupled with a grand seafood selection and handcrafted desserts. This exceptional dining experience celebrates Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage through its diverse and flavorful cuisine.

The highlight of the buffet is its masterful curation of dishes that represent the distinct culinary traditions of Johor, Melaka, and Negeri Sembilan. One of the standout dishes, Kerabu Lobster, serves as a refreshing and zesty appetizer, balancing the natural sweetness of fresh lobster with the tang of lime and aromatic herbs. This light yet flavorful dish is a perfect prelude to the heartier selections that follow.

From Johor, the iconic Nasi Ambang brings a touch of communal dining to the table. This traditional dish consists of fragrant rice accompanied by serunding, soy-braised chicken, and an array of complementary side dishes, offering a comforting and fulfilling meal. Meanwhile, the rich and tangy Seafood Asam Pedas Claypot is a must-try for seafood lovers. The bold and spicy broth enhances the natural sweetness of prawns, fish, and squid, creating a dish that is both warming and invigorating.

Melaka’s renowned Satay Lok Lok takes center stage at one of the interactive live cooking stations, offering guests a fun and engaging experience. Diners can choose from a variety of meat and seafood skewers to dip into a flavorful hot broth before pairing them with a delicious peanut sauce. The experience of preparing one’s own skewers adds an exciting and personal touch to the dining experience.

Another southern specialty, Negeri Sembilan’s Seafood Masak Lemak, is a comforting dish known for its rich, creamy turmeric and coconut milk sauce. The perfectly blended flavors coat the fresh seafood beautifully, creating a harmonious balance of spice and creaminess.

For those with a passion for seafood, the buffet offers an impressive BBQ seafood selection, featuring fresh prawns, yabbies, oysters, and sashimi. The grilling station ensures that each item is cooked to perfection, enhancing its natural flavors and succulence. Another delightful surprise among the live cooking stations is a signature burger, providing a simple yet delicious bite with juicy meat, fresh toppings, and soft buns.

No feast is complete without a sweet conclusion, and Pavilion Hotel’s master chefs have meticulously prepared an array of delectable desserts to satisfy every palate. Guests can indulge in a selection of traditional Malay kuih, flaky Western pastries, and artisanal ice creams, each crafted to offer a unique and memorable flavor experience. Whether one prefers the nostalgic taste of local sweets or the delicate textures of international confections, there is something for everyone at this indulgent buffet.

Exclusive Early Bird Offers

To make the experience even more enticing, Pavilion Hotel Kuala Lumpur is offering an Early Bird promotion at RM 138 nett per person, valid from 5 January to 28 February 2025. The regular price for the buffet is RM 178 nett per person, while children aged 6-12 years can enjoy the feast at RM 110 nett per child. These exclusive discounts provide an excellent opportunity for families and friends to come together and celebrate Ramadan with a lavish spread of authentic southern flavors.
