Victoria Station @ Ampang: 3 Generation Steakhouse

June 28, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

Victoria Station is a staple in the Malaysian dining scene, known for its unparalleled steak offerings and a three-generation legacy of grilling fine steaks. It’s one of those iconic restaurants that you simply cannot miss. Every visit to Victoria Station promises not just a meal, but an experience that combines culinary excellence with a unique and charming atmosphere.

During our recent visit to their Ampang outlet, we were immediately captivated by the well-thought-out decor, which resembles a vintage rail station. This thematic setting not only adds a touch of nostalgia but also captures the attention and hearts of many diners. The cozy ambiance, coupled with the warm and friendly greetings from the staff as we entered, set the stage for a memorable dining experience.

V.S Station Salad (RM 23.80)

We began our culinary journey with the V.S Station Salad, one of their signature dishes. This fresh garden salad was a visual delight, beautifully tossed with the Chef’s specially crafted VS Assorted Seeds Dressing. The salad was not only refreshing but also packed with flavors, making it an immediate favorite. Each bite was a perfect balance of crisp vegetables and the unique, tangy dressing.

V.S Lobster Bisque (RM 23.80)

Next, we savored the V.S Lobster Bisque. This shellfish broth was delicately prepared, ensuring a smooth and creamy texture that was rich and satisfying. The generous chunks of lobster meat added a luxurious touch to the bisque, making it a standout appetizer that set high expectations for the rest of the meal.

V.S Cream of Assorted Wild Mushroom Soup (RM 9.80)

The Cream of Assorted Wild Mushroom Soup was another highlight. This hearty, intercontinental soup was packed with robust flavors, offering a comforting warmth in every sip. The blend of assorted wild mushrooms provided a depth of flavor that was both earthy and rich, making it a must-try for soup enthusiasts.

V.S Shark Fin Crabmeat (RM 19.80)

We also tried the V.S Shark Fin Crabmeat soup, which offered a unique fusion of flavors. This dish was prepared in a western style, yet served with traditional oriental black vinegar, creating a delightful contrast. The soup was flavorful and the crabmeat was tender and delicious.

Escargots (RM 27.80)

A visit to Victoria Station wouldn’t be complete without trying their Escargots. These garden snails were baked to perfection with the Chef’s signature VS Escargot Sauce. Each mouthful was bursting with flavor, making it easy to see why this dish is one of their best-sellers. The escargots were fresh and succulent, offering a truly indulgent experience.

Spaghetti Aglio Olio Assorted Seafood (RM 37.80)

For the main course, we opted for the Spaghetti Aglio Olio Assorted Seafood. This dish was a testament to the Chef’s skill, with the pasta cooked al dente and stir-fried with extra virgin olive oil. The combination of ground VS Poultry Bacon, herbs, assorted wild mushrooms, and a generous assortment of seafood made this dish a harmonious blend of flavors and textures. It’s a delightful dish that seafood lovers should not miss.

V.S Cajun Salmon

The V.S Cajun Salmon was another highlight. The salmon was perfectly cooked, with flaky and juicy meat that was pan-fried to perfection. The Cajun seasoning added a wonderful kick to the dish, making every mouthful a burst of flavor. This dish quickly became one of our favorites, showcasing the restaurant’s expertise in preparing seafood.

V.S Surf & Turf (RM 148.80)

One of the must-try dishes at Victoria Station is their V.S Surf & Turf. This superb combo of beef and lobster Thermidor is a heavenly delight that is sure to impress. The generous portions of both beef and lobster were cooked to perfection, offering a luxurious and satisfying meal. The dish was beautifully presented and the flavors were exquisite, making it a standout choice for those looking to indulge in the best of both worlds.

Bomb Alaska

We concluded our meal with Victoria Station’s signature dessert, the Bomb Alaska. This indulgent treat was the perfect end to a fantastic dining experience. The Bomb Alaska was superbly good, with layers of flavor and texture that made it a delight to eat. It was a fitting finale to a meal that had already exceeded our expectations in every way.

Victoria Station continues to uphold its reputation as a premier dining destination in Malaysia. With its rich legacy, charming ambiance, and outstanding dishes, it offers an unparalleled dining experience. Whether you’re a steak lover, a seafood enthusiast, or simply looking for a great meal, Victoria Station is definitely worth a visit. Each dish is crafted with care and passion, ensuring that every visit is a memorable one.
