MyLaksa & Nita Cosmetics Collab to Bring Unity in Beauty this Ramadan Season

April 13, 2022 by StrawberrY Gal

MyLaksa – the Penangite founded and owned chain of restaurants is continuing their mission to bring the Taste of Unity to every corner of the nation this Ramadan season. To mark the occasion in style MyLaksa has partnered with Nita Cosmetics – popular local cosmetics brand to unify the Malaysian penchant for delicious hearty food with beauty that is catered to local sensibilities. The complementary nature of this collaboration is rooted in the visions that both brands possess to bring Malaysian enterprises, values and cultures to the global market.

The collaboration sees the launch of the MyLaksa Bungkus Better Deals campaign that brings unity in beauty. Running from 28 March to 2 May, the campaign is set to wow customers with a delightful and unique combination of slurpy delicious Penang Asam Laksa and colourful lipsticks from Nita Cosmetics.

“Who says you need to choose between beauty and a bowl of KAW Penang Asam Laksa? This Ramadan season we are excited to be bringing our customers the best of both worlds through the MyLaksa Bungkus Better Deals. The deal offers customers the convenience of grabbing a comforting meal on the go as they prepare for buka puasa while stocking up their makeup collection for the upcoming Raya celebrations. We believe this campaign truly embodies the beauty in our unity, as foodies, artists and entrepreneurs come together to bring Malaysians a genuinely exciting experience,” said Daniel Ong, MyLaksa Co-Founder and Managing Director.

The MyLaksa Bungkus Better Deals features 2 sets of hearty dishes perfect for the family or for solo diners. The Family Bungkus set and the Special Bungkus set* allow buyers to grab a convenient meal on the go. Each MyLaksa Bungkus Better Deals set entitles diners to add-on the Nita Bungkus Mini Bullet Matte Lipstick – Balik Kampung collection at a special price of RM47 only. Purchasing MyLaksa’s pre-existing Family Set or the Royal Set will also entitle the buyer to add-on the lipstick. Meal sets range in price from RM21 to RM30.

Speaking on the partnership, Aznita, founder of Nita Cosmetics said, “We are thrilled to find another business that shares our passion for elevating Malaysian culture and products. We have worked hard for six years to build our brand and compete with the international giants in the market. Collaborations like this one with MyLaksa are the kind of efforts that set us apart, two local brands working together to bring consumers something unique and special.”

The Nita Bungkus Mini Bullet Matte Lipstick – Balik Kampung set comprises 5 mini lipstick bullets in shades that are suitable for the varying skin tones among Malaysians. Adding a sense of nostalgia and Malaysian flair, the lipsticks are named Sarsi, Ais Kacang, Jambu Ais, Sago and Teh Ais respectively. The hydrating lipstick formula offers a long-lasting matte finish that is a perfect tool for an after meal touch up, especially one as hearty as Penang Asam Laksa.

“We have great admiration for Aznita. She has strived to create award winning products while greatly facilitating the domestic cosmetics industry at a grassroots level. We echo a similar sentiment, working towards developing opportunities for local entrepreneurs and building sustainable frameworks for those getting involved within the F&B space,” Daniel added.

In line with their spirit of unity, MyLaksa is also looking to shine the lime light on local artists whilst ringing in the Raya festive joy by featuring local designs on limited edition Raya Packets.

The Raya Packets features artwork by Nasuha Ibrahim – local artist, highlighting Malaysian art styles and exemplifying the Raya spirit. The artwork depicts a joyous celebration of Eid with food at the heart of it. The aesthetic is one that MyLaksa believes will be near and dear to the hearts of all as Raya festivities will finally be back in full swing after two years of travel restrictions. The depiction of this fundamental pillar of the occasion in the artwork was chosen to remind patrons of the delights that lie ahead upon the arrival of Syawal this year.

The #MyLaksaNita spirit soars beyond MyLaksa stores and on to social screens with the  #MyLaksaNita TikTok Lip Sync Challenge. The MyLaksa team have cooked up a rap worthy of imitation with a catchy beat and killer rhymes all delivered with a swagger by none other than Nita Cosmetics’ Aznita Azman.

The challenge thrown down to all TikTok-ers is to lip sync the verse as creatively and coolly as they can. The lucky winner will win prizes worth up to RM400 The contest runs from 1st April to 30th April with winners being announced on the 16 May.
