Canton Poh Kei @ Taman Mayang: More than 30 years Awesome Charcoal Roasted Duck

November 6, 2021 by StrawberrY Gal

30 years and counting! And the local favorites Canton Poh Kei is back again in action In their new location which is not far from their old place. Canton Poh Kei is one of the famous brands within the neighborhood bringing you with their signature charcoal roast duck and chicken.

Being in the market for more than 30 years, the Sifu is back in action where they brings you with their juicy, crispy duck which is the crowds favorite. Their new outlet is now at Taman Mayang which is just next to the St Ignatius church Kelana Jaya. With ample parking space, dining there is just perfect at anytime.

Roast Duck Drumstick (RM 10 )

Roast Duck  (RM 7 )

Started off with their signature duck, their roasted duck is being roast with charcoal for 45 minutes ensuring the aromatic char-taste is well infused in the duck itself plus bring you the aromatic hint of it. Not just that, cooking them at the right temperature and time can also the meat remains tender and juicy which makes the dish double thumbs up.

Roast chicken Breast &  wing (RM 5) , Thigh & Drumstick (RM 6)

Asides from the roasted duck, we also have the roasted chicken as well. The chicken is perfectly roasted in a huge oven. Leaving with the thin, crispy skin and juicy meat, I am sold and wanted my second plate. They are perfect at any time.

Next, we have their roast pork rice which come with the crackly skin and juicy meat. Well-roasted for an hour, the roast pork is so good and I can feel the cracking bites when in the mouth.

Their char siew is good too. Well charred and aromatic. They are perfectly bbq, and you can feel the fragrant char-taste in it except a slight dry-ness in its texture. It maybe because we have taken quite sometime for snapping pictures.

The Steam Chicken is my favorite and definitely give a double thumbs up for this. The kampung chicken is perfectly steamed till perfection and meat is so tender and juicy. We love the texture so much and I can say it is definitely a come back for their steam chicken.

Asides from the roasted items, they do serve Nasi Lemak and Wantan Noodles. Their Nasi Lemak WOW me with the aromatic base coconut rice and served together with the crispy anchovies and spicy aromatic chilly at the side. You can have your nasi lemak together with their deep fried chicken which is so flavorful and juicy meat.

Not enough, go for their Wanton Noodles. Their Wanton Noodles comes pretty good with the slurplicious noodles and sides with their in house homemade roasted  char-siew and wanton.

If you have not try them, do heads to try them now! Their food is awesomely good and double thumbs up!
