SOUL Society and Dignity for Children aim to raise RM25,000 this Christmas season

December 4, 2020 by StrawberrY Gal

To end the year on a thoughtful note and spread joy this Christmas, SOUL Society has spearheaded a collaboration with Dignity for Children aiming to raise RM25,000 in funds for the organization. The NGO which has been operating since 1998, empowers underprivileged and marginalized children to break the cycle of poverty through quality education, positively transforming their lives and the lives of the community around them.

The SOUL Society Group of restaurants which include WIP, Tujo, Hubba, Goa and of course the SOULed OUT outlets across Malaysia will be actively driving the fundraising initiative to ensure they reach their target for the children. With a more muted air and no big parties this year, as each business does their utmost to ensure the safety of their customers, the Group will be tagging on donation opportunities through a host of creative Christmas offerings throughout the month of December.

Brian Choo, Chief Operating Officer of SOUL Society was quoted saying, “As a local business and community advocate, we at SOUL Society continuously strive to give back to those in need and help wherever and whenever possible. This year has caused unprecedented difficulties for numerous people and we feel it is our duty to assist as much as we can, within our capabilities. We also want to provide a platform where our customers and partners can also join in to support a great cause.”

Customers can join in the fundraising fun by just dining at any SOUL Society outlet. The main drivers to raise the funds are through purchases of the various delicious Christmas Platters available in each restaurant, where RM5 will be donated for each platter sold. Additionally, RM1 contributions from any regular size Mojitos from the menu will also go to the Dignity Fund. Patrons who want to do more can show their support for the campaign by buying wishing cards at a RM5 minimum donation and decorating the Christmas trees at any of these outlets or dropping a donation in the Dignity for Children donation boxes that have already been set-up at six Soul Society outlets which include WIP, Tujo, Hubba, SOULed OUT Ampang, SOULed OUT Bangsar South, and SOULed OUT Kuala Lumpur in Desa Sri Hartamas.

To spread the Christmas spirit even further, patrons can also surprise their loved ones with SOUL Society gift packs which include SOUL Society’s famous Christmas Fruit Cake, Christmas cookies, an exclusive T-Shirt and a Santa Hat all for the price of RM30, RM10 of which will be allocated to the charity fund.

A special Christmas Bazaar, which runs from December 5 to December 20 has also been organised to help small local business and Dignity’s enterprises increase their sales before 2020 comes to an end.

“This year’s Christmas season carries a lot of significance for SOUL Society. Unlike previous year’s, this December is going to be solemn and a lot quieter. There’s still a lot of uncertainty about what the next few months are going to look like, and we believe now more than ever, we have to come together to make a difference. I am certain that our group together with our wonderful customers will ensure we achieve our target for Dignity for Children, and we look forward to everyone joining in to get our campaign going!” concluded Mr. Choo.
