Laksa Kitchen @ Hutton Lane : 50 years History Asam Laksa!

Laksa Kitchen by Gurney 11 is one of our visit during our trip down to Penang. Located in Hutton Lane, Laksa Kitchen is having over 50 years of history in Penang bringing you a taste of Penang Asam Laksa.

The shop is pretty much down to earth where there is no fancy decoration or anything. Their menu is simple and straight to the point where one can enjoy some local delicacies of Penang such as Lobak, Curry Puff,  Nasi lemak with rendang chicken, pad Thai, and sesame soya sauce chicken, Chendol and of course their SIGNATURE ASAM LAKSA!

And this time, we of course try their laksa. Choose your choice of Laksa where one can have them with 3 choices either the Lemak Laksa, Asam Laksa or the Lemak Asam Laksa.

Lemak Laksa is also called the Siam Laksa which is more to the creamy side. The Siam Laksa here comes pretty good with the creamy thick broth. And in Laksa Kitchen, they serve with a crackers by the side.

The Asam Laksa is awesomely good. We love the asam laksa so much and we ordered another bowl of it. The asam laksa comes with the light sourish blend not overpowering and yet the broth is thick. You can find generous portion of mackerel fish and the noodles are slurplicious good.

The curry puff is nicely done as well where Grace ordered one and keep ordering another two piece after the first bite. The crispy crust with the generous amount of cube of potatoes in it.

They also serve lobak as well. Nothing much to shout about the lobak as it is pretty normal.

The gula sago melaka is a nice twist where they use blue pea flower to cook the sago together. Well cooked and they are at the perfect texture too.

Overall, Laksa Kitchen would definitely worth the re-visit when we are back to Penang.
