HEARTY DIM SUM FEAST WITH A SPECIALLY DESIGNED MENU OF SIGNATURE CREATIONS

September 10, 2015 by StrawberrY Gal

With a skilled tea master serving tea from a long-nosed bronze kettle, dining at Si Chuan Dou Hua has always been a memorable experience. The restaurant’s Dim Sum Feast (川粤点心宴) has taken the experience up a notch with Master Dim Sum Chef Peng Yi Chun’s (点心师傅彭以春) specially designed menu.

Hailing from the award-winning Si Chuan Dou Hua in Singapore, Chef Peng’s menu comprises a mouth-watering repertoire of 58 items. It features Sichuan and Cantonese dim sum creations complemented by mains such as noodles, rice and vegetables cooked in different styles, as well as a variety of soups and desserts. Diners can handpick a selection of 28 items from the broad menu at only RM58 nett per person or RM178 nett for 4 persons.

Chef Cheah Chun Choong of Si Chuan Dou Hua at PARKROYAL Kuala Lumpur performs the Sichuan art of knife shredding noodles at the restaurant kitchen. Requiring extreme concentration and precision, he shreds strips of noodles from a piece of dough using a sharp blade in quick, successive strokes. These handmade noodles can then be enjoyed in two ways, either with a Chef’s Special Sauce or in Sichuan Chilli Oil.

Among the other highlights of the promotion are signature Sichuan dim sum creations such as the Minced Chicken Dumpling wrapped in Banana Leaf (翡翠叶儿粑), which comes in a beautiful emerald green colour. Filled with tasty minced chicken, the dumpling has a unique chewy texture achieved by careful control of cooking time and method. Si Chuan Dou Hua’s rendition of the Pan-fried Minced Chicken Dumpling with Chives (冰花锅贴) is a refreshing take on the popular dish. The dumplings are served together with a thin layer of flour batter that is lightly fried to form a beautiful snowflake-like lid over the dumplings.

Diners can also look forward to classic Cantonese dim sum items such as the Steamed Fresh Prawn Dumpling (弯鲜虾饺), Pan-fried Radish Cake (香炸萝卜糕) and the well-liked Steamed Custard Bun (三花奶黄包).

Priced at RM58 nett per person and RM178 nett for 4 persons, the Dim Sum Feast is available for lunch from 12:00 noon to 2:30pm from Mondays to Fridays, and for brunch from 10:00am to 2:30pm on Saturdays and Sundays. Special savings apply for selected bank cardmembers. The promotional offers are only available if the bill is settled by credit card or charged to your guestroom.
