Petaling Jaya Marriott Hotel Sets a New Benchmark for Chinese New Year Dining with an Opulent Cantonese Feast

February 8, 2026 by StrawberrY Gal

Petaling Jaya Marriott Hotel has once again affirmed its standing as one of the city’s premier destinations for festive dining with the unveiling of its Chinese New Year 2026 Cantonese menu, showcased at an exclusive media preview. Designed to embody prosperity, refinement, and tradition, the multi-course feast delivers a carefully orchestrated dining experience that balances premium ingredients with classic Cantonese finesse.

From the opening course to the final sweet note, the menu reflects meticulous craftsmanship and confident restraint — qualities that define exceptional celebratory dining.

The experience begins with an auspicious Baby Abalone Yee Sang, generously portioned and elegantly presented, setting the tone for a year of abundance and shared fortune.

This is followed by a delicate Scallop and Crab Pumpkin Soup, notable for its natural sweetness, silky texture, and refined depth — a comforting yet luxurious interlude.

One of the standout highlights is the Roasted Crispy Irish Silver Hill Duck, often regarded as the “Wagyu of ducks.” Perfectly roasted, the duck boasts a thin, crisp skin and exceptionally tender meat, demonstrating precision roasting at its finest.

Seafood courses are equally impressive, with the Steamed Live Dragon Sea Grouper allowing the pristine quality of the fish to shine through, elevated subtly with superior soy sauce for balance and clarity of flavour.

The Steamed River Prawn, served atop a bed of silken egg white, delivers understated elegance, while the Prosperity Treasure — a luxurious braise of abalone, sea cucumber, dried oysters, and fatt choy — embodies the symbolic richness traditionally associated with Lunar New Year feasts.

Adding further indulgence is the Hong Kong–style Roasted Crispy Goose, executed with confidence and restraint, offering rich flavour without excess.

The savoury journey concludes with Waxed Meat Rice wrapped in lotus leaf, fragrant and nostalgic, grounding the meal with warmth and familiarity.

Dessert is a graceful finale featuring double-boiled sweet soup, fried nian gao, and buttery pineapple tarts, providing a harmonious balance of tradition and indulgence.

What distinguishes this offering is not merely the premium ingredients, but the thoughtful pacing and polish of each course. The menu is clearly curated for family reunions, corporate entertaining, and milestone celebrations, offering both grandeur and composure — a hallmark of true luxury dining.

With this Chinese New Year 2026 menu, Petaling Jaya Marriott Hotel sets a high benchmark for festive Cantonese cuisine, reaffirming its role as a destination where tradition, refinement, and celebration converge.
