Thai Tai at The Starling Mall: Spotlight on Thai Favorites

September 17, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

Tucked away in The Starling Mall, Thai Tai brings the unmistakable vibrancy of Thai cuisine to the table. With a menu that blends familiar comfort with authentic flavors, the restaurant highlights a few dishes that capture the essence of Thailand’s culinary culture: communal dining, bold spices, and refreshing desserts.

Set A Pork – A Mookata Classic

At the heart of Thai Tai’s dining experience is the beloved Mookata. The standout here is Set A Pork (RM65.00), dedicated exclusively to pork lovers. Beautifully presented slices of pork—ranging from lean cuts to richly marbled pieces—are paired with mixed vegetables, three signature dipping sauces, and free soup refills. The sizzling grill and bubbling broth create a lively, interactive meal perfect for sharing.

Som Tum – The Quintessential Starter

No Thai table feels complete without Som Tum (Thai Papaya Salad) (RM15.90). Crisp, tangy, and fiery, this refreshing salad is a balance of flavors—sweet, sour, salty, and spicy—brought together with crunchy green papaya, tomatoes, and peanuts. Thai Tai keeps it traditional, letting this iconic dish shine on its own.

Pad Mama Ebiko – A Signature Noodle Dish

For those craving a hearty main, the Pad Mama Ebiko (RM21.90) is a must-try. Stir-fried mama noodles form the base, tossed with prawns and topped with generous ebiko (shrimp roe). The result is a comforting yet indulgent dish—springy noodles with bursts of briny richness—that transforms simple street-style noodles into a house signature.

Sharing Platter

The sharing platter comes amazingly good with the generous portion of Pork belly, fish cake, moo ping and grilled chicken wings. Each items is beautifully prepared and deep fried till perfection.

Red Ruby – A Sweet Finale

Every Thai feast deserves a cooling finish, and the Red Ruby (RM12.90) delivers just that. Jewel-like water chestnuts coated in chewy tapioca flour are served in a creamy coconut base, offering a dessert that is refreshing, textural, and unmistakably Thai. Light yet satisfying, it’s the perfect way to end a meal.

A Taste of Thailand, Close to Home

By spotlighting classics like Set A Pork, Som Tum, Pad Mama Ebiko, and Red Ruby, Thai Tai showcases the heart of Thai dining: communal warmth, bold flavors, and refreshing finishes. Whether you come for a casual lunch or a shared evening meal, Thai Tai at The Starling Mall offers a flavorful journey into Thailand’s beloved culinary traditions.
