HWAROJUNG OPENS IN KUALA LUMPUR: A SIZZLING NEW SPOT FOR KOREAN GRILLED CHICKEN DINING

September 4, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

If you’re on the lookout for a new Korean dining experience that goes beyond your usual BBQ and hotpot joints, Hwarojung is one to watch. Newly opened just last week, this modern Korean restaurant introduces a bold and flavour-packed concept centered around grilled chicken dining, bringing a fresh twist to the city’s thriving Korean food scene.

A Warm Welcome with Refined Korean Aesthetics

Step inside Hwarojung and you’re immediately drawn to its calming, minimalist interiors. The space is accented with natural wooden textures, warm lighting, and a clean, modern layout. Whether you’re here for a casual catch-up or an intimate dinner, the restaurant’s design caters to both—especially with private dining rooms that can comfortably accommodate up to four people, perfect for those who prefer a quieter, more exclusive experience.

Grilled Chicken Set for 3–4 pax

Hwarojung’s signature dish is the Grilled Chicken Set for 3–4 pax, and it’s an absolute crowd-pleaser. You get a generous 1kg portion of grilled chicken, marinated and grilled to perfection over fire. Diners can choose from three mouth-watering flavours—Original, Spicy, and Garlic—or better yet, mix them all for a variety of textures and heat levels.

The chicken is juicy, smoky, and intensely flavourful, with charred edges that give just the right amount of bite. Every set is served with fluffy Korean-style steamed egg, a refreshing summer roll set, and crisp vegetables that perfectly balance out the richness of the grilled meat.

No Korean meal is complete without a lineup of banchan and side dishes—and Hwarojung delivers.

Steamed Egg

The steamed egg brings you with the light, airy, and cloud-like in texture, this classic Korean dish is gently savoury and comforting—a must-have alongside your grilled chicken.

Kimchi Squid Pancake

As for the Kimchi Squid Pancake, it comes with a crisp-edged, golden pancake packed with the punchy tang of aged kimchi and tender pieces of squid. It’s flavourful with just the right chew and spice, ideal for sharing.

Memil Noodles

Love the buckwheat noodles are served cold in a light soy-based broth that’s both refreshing and umami-rich, making it a great palate cleanser mid-meal.

Hwarojung may be new, but it already feels like a seasoned contender in KL’s Korean dining circuit. With its unique grilled chicken concept, elegant ambience, and satisfying sides, this is a spot that strikes the perfect balance between casual and elevated.

Whether you’re a Korean food enthusiast or simply love grilled meats done right, Hwarojung is worth the visit. Come hungry, bring friends, and prepare for a hearty, soul-warming meal.
