Making Dinnertime Easier as a Working Mum with the Ninja Double Stack XL

June 13, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

As a working mother of two, dinner time often turns into a negotiation table.

One child wants nuggets, the other insists on fries, and the adults in the house are hoping for something more wholesome—like grilled chicken. Add to that the limited kitchen space of condo living, and juggling everyone’s preferences becomes more complicated than it should be.

I used to wish I had two air fryers just to meet everyone’s needs, but let’s face it—countertop space is precious. That’s when the Ninja Double Stack XL entered my life and changed everything.

This compact yet powerful appliance comes with two vertically stacked drawers, both independently controlled, allowing me to cook two different meals simultaneously. It’s designed for busy, space-conscious households like mine, and it’s made dinnertime so much smoother.

What We Cooked This Weekend: Two Cravings, One Solution

It was a typical weekend evening—one kid asked for chicken nuggets, the other wanted fries. Meanwhile, my husband and I wanted grilled chicken chops for a heartier meal. Instead of choosing one dish to make first, I made everything at once with the Ninja Double Stack XL, and here’s how:

Grilled Chicken Chop Recipe (Air Fryer Style)

Ingredients:

  • 3 boneless chicken chops (thigh or breast, skin-on preferred)
  • 2 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoon black pepper sauce
  • 2 tablespoon BBQ sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions:

  1. Marinate the chicken chops with soy sauce, black pepper sauce, BBQ sauce, and ground black pepper. Let sit for at least 30 minutes (or overnight for more flavour).
  2. Place two pieces of chicken in the upper drawer, and one in the lower drawer of the Ninja Stack.
  3. Insert the Smart Food Probe into one of the chicken pieces to monitor internal temperature. Set it to air fry at 200°C with a target internal temp of 75°C.

Crispy Nuggets and Fries (Kid-Friendly Favourite)

Ingredients:

  • 250g frozen  fries
  • 6 pcs frozen chicken nuggets

Instructions:

  1. In the other cooking basket, add the frozen fries and nuggets.
  2. Select the Air Fry function at 200°C for 18–20 minutes, shaking halfway through.
  3. Use the SYNC Finish feature so both baskets complete cooking at the same time.

The Result?

Juicy, flavourful grilled chicken chops for the adults, and crispy nuggets and fries for the kids—all ready at the same time, served piping hot. No need to reheat. No separate cooking cycles. No complaints at the dinner table.

It was honestly one of the most peaceful mealtimes we’ve had in a while. and I am hassle free and watching my movies while NINJA do all the work

Why It Works for My Family

The Ninja Double Stack XL isn’t just about cooking more—it’s about cooking smarter. The vertical design saves counter space, which is ideal for condos like mine. The independent temperature and time settings for each drawer allow me to cater to multiple tastes without using separate appliances. Even better, it’s energy efficient, fast, and easy to clean. The drawers and crisper plates are removable and dishwasher-safe, which is a huge plus when you’re dealing with post-dinner cleanup.

For any busy parent trying to juggle work, family, and home-cooked meals, I can honestly say this machine has become a lifesaver in my kitchen. If you’re constantly finding yourself torn between pleasing everyone at dinner and making just one dish to save your sanity, this is the perfect solution. The Ninja Double Stack XL has truly made cooking less stressful, and more joyful, for our whole family.
