A Culinary Journey Through Malaysia’s Rich Heritage at Berjaya Times Square Hotel

March 1, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

As the vibrant rhythms of Malaysia’s diverse culture fill the air, Berjaya Times Square Hotel, Kuala Lumpur, invites you to embark on an unforgettable gastronomic adventure with their latest buffet offering, “Classic 3 Rasa.” Running from 3 to 28 March 2025, this buffet is a grand celebration of over 150 authentic dishes that showcase the enduring culinary traditions of Malaysia’s multiracial heritage.

Stepping into the dining area, guests are immediately enveloped by an atmosphere of warmth and conviviality. The Classic 3 Rasa buffet is available from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM, with an attractive price point of RM188 nett per adult and RM88 nett per child. For those planning larger gatherings, whether for corporate events or family reunions, the hotel offers thoughtfully curated group packages—ranging from the Gangsa package for 30 pax at RM4,050 nett, to the Perak package for 50 pax at RM6,500 nett, and the Emas package for 100 pax at RM12,800 nett.

At its heart, Classic 3 Rasa is a culinary tapestry that weaves together the best of Malay, Chinese, and Indian influences. Every dish is a tribute to the traditions and flavors that have shaped Malaysia’s food scene, creating a dining experience that is both nostalgic and excitingly contemporary.

One standout dish is the Kari Kepala Ikan, a signature fish head curry that is nothing short of a masterpiece. Rich, aromatic spices and creamy coconut milk meld perfectly with the tender fish, creating a balance of heat, tanginess, and deep umami flavors that pair exquisitely with warm, fluffy rice.

Equally enticing is the Sup Gearbox, a hearty bone marrow soup that epitomizes comfort food at its finest. Slow-cooked to perfection, the broth is robust and full-bodied, while the melt-in-your-mouth marrow offers an indulgent, satisfying experience—a true homage to traditional Malaysian delicacies.

For meat lovers, the Kambing Golek is a show-stopper. This succulent roasted lamb is masterfully seasoned and grilled until its exterior achieves a crispy, golden finish, while the interior remains irresistibly juicy and tender. Enhanced by the tang of mint sauce and the spice of black pepper gravy, every bite of this dish elevates the dining experience to new heights.

No Malaysian feast would be complete without a celebration of traditional sweets, and Classic 3 Rasa does not disappoint. An impressive selection of Traditional Kuih-Muih awaits, from the rich, coconut-infused Kuih Seri Muka to the chewy, pandan-scented Onde-Onde bursting with palm sugar. Each delicacy offers a nostalgic reminder of cherished childhood memories and the sweet flavors of home.

Head Chef Rossham Rusli expresses heartfelt pride in presenting an experience that not only honors tradition but also unites families, friends, and colleagues through the universal language of food. This sentiment is echoed by Adrian Chung, Area General Manager of Berjaya Hospitality Group, who emphasizes that preserving culture through food is at the very core of their mission.

Whether you are breaking fast or simply looking to immerse yourself in Malaysia’s rich culinary heritage, the Classic 3 Rasa buffet at Berjaya Times Square Hotel is an experience not to be missed. It’s more than just a meal—it’s a celebration of the country’s diversity, a testament to its enduring traditions, and a delicious invitation to gather together in the spirit of togetherness and joy.
