Hotel Royal Signature Presents the Exclusive Dari Desa Ke Kota Ramadan Buffet 2025

February 24, 2025 by StrawberrY Gal

Hotel Royal Signature is delighted to announce the exclusive Dari Desa Ke Kota Ramadan Buffet at its Halal Certified Asian Pot Restaurant. This exceptional culinary experience combines the authentic flavors of Malaysia’s traditional village cuisine with the sophistication of modern dining, offering guests a memorable journey that celebrates both local heritage and contemporary refinement.

This year, diners are invited to indulge in a feast that beautifully marries the rustic charm of village-inspired dishes with the elegance of urban flavors. The buffet’s highlight is Executive Chef Zulfikar Ali Mahdi’s signature Lebanese Lamb Shank Kabsa—a slow-cooked lamb shank infused with aromatic spices, egg saffron, and fresh vegetable pickles, served on a bed of fragrant Kabsa rice. Each tender bite delivers a perfect balance of smoky, earthy, and subtly sweet flavors, epitomizing Middle Eastern culinary excellence.

Another highlight of the buffet is the Sungai Petani Special Kari Kepala Ikan, a cherished family recipe passed down from Chef Zulfikar’s mother. This comforting dish blends aromatic spices and creamy coconut milk with tender fish head, evoking the nostalgic taste of home. Guests will also enjoy Celup-Celup Tepung Terengganu, a signature creation crafted by one of the Terengganu-born members of the culinary team. This traditional dish features fresh seafood, lightly battered and fried to a perfect crisp, offering a delightful texture that captures the bold, authentic flavors of Malaysia’s vibrant east coast.

The buffet spread features more than 100 dishes, including Roasted Lamb Khouzi, a live BBQ Grill Station, the popular food street dish Ayam Gunting, Bubur Lambuk, and festive classics such as Lemang and Ketupat. An assortment of Malay Kuih and desserts completes the feast, while a live Teh Tarik station adds a traditional touch. To further enhance the experience, guests will be serenaded by live performances from Zul2by2 and MayaTheGirls Suka Music, creating the perfect ambiance for a truly memorable evening.

“We are delighted to present the Dari Desa Ke Kota theme, which brings together the cherished flavors of tradition and the sophistication of modern dining. This buffet is a celebration of the community, culture, and history that shape us. While we thrive in the hustle and bustle of city life, we believe in preserving and sharing the nostalgic, homegrown flavors that connect us to simpler, more meaningful times. It is our hope that this experience creates lasting memories and brings people together, sharing not only a meal but a journey through time,” said May Cheong @ Nurul, General Manager of Hotel Royal Signature.

In the spirit of Ramadan, guests can also fulfill their zakat obligations during the Dari Desa Ke Kota Ramadan Buffet. A dedicated counter by the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council-Zakat Collection Centre (PPZ-MAIWP) will be available throughout the buffet, providing a convenient opportunity for guests to contribute their zakat.
