Chinese New Year: Most Popular Delivery Dishes During the Festival

February 10, 2024 by StrawberrY Gal

The Chinese New Year festival has its own traditions, especially those related to food. People tend to ac-tively prepare and deliver food to relatives, friends or neighbors. They use the advantages of technologies that let people make orders through the application and send anything to any location within the country.

On the occasion of the Chinese New Year, the analysts of Maxim E-hailing shared approximate data on the percentage rate of food that was delivered, along with the top five most popular traditional foods. During the festival, because of traffic jams and long lines in stores, many users preferred to use delivery. The data showed that almost seven thousand deliveries were made during the New Year.

According to the users, the most famous dish is Yee Sang, the symbol of welcoming the Chinese New Year. It’s the combination of foods, and from the date the data showed that 36% of users order a delivery of this dish. Users may send Yee Shang to their relatives, friends or colleagues to share the spirit.

The second on the list is “Kuih” with 28% of deliveries, and the most popular “kuih” during the festival is Spring roll. It’s also well known as “Chun Juan” that represents wealth and prosperity. The third one is a dessert with 16% of deliveries, sweet potato balls, which represent one of the best refreshing desserts.

The fourth is “níanníanyoǔyú” which means to have abundance every year, with a record of 12%; it is a whole fish meal that is served on the day of celebration. The fifth on the list is fruit, being ordered in 8% of cases; during the season of the festival people will give a basket of mandarin oranges as a gift.

With such a packed schedule, choosing delivery through Maxim e-hailing is the best way to enrich the cel-ebration. This may give a positive impact as it allows for more time and high bonding with family and friends.
