Monitor Hypertension with Galaxy Watch5 Series

July 1, 2023 by StrawberrY Gal

Do you know that hypertension comes with the risk of other health problems? Hypertension, also called high blood pressure, can increase the risks of heart attack, heart and lung diseases, stroke and so on.

If you have high blood pressure, you will get a high chance of getting the diseases labelled below:

That’s why it’s important to regularly measure your blood pressure and consult a medical professional for your health report. To complement that, you can also measure your BP rate anytime, anywhere with personal health devices, like the Galaxy Watch5. Getting this data is the first step to knowing your health situation and what you need to do to improve it.

So, take the first step today to make positive lifestyle changes with the help of the Galaxy Watch5 Series. The smartwatch is equipped with a powerful BP and ECG sensor that can check and store your blood pressure data with Samsung Health Monitor. It requires calibration with the Cuff-type blood pressure monitor, to enable your Galaxy Watch to measure blood pressure and provide the results and history charts on your smartphone.

Here’s how to use the Samsung Health Monitor with your Galaxy Watch5:

Other than checking your blood pressure, you also can take an electrocardiogram (ECG) with your Galaxy Watch5. The ECG tracking feature helps you measure the electrical activity of the heart. ECG is currently the best way to detect your irregular rhythms and the information is recorded on the graph. It will also help to check whether atrial fibrillation or sinus rhythm is present. If atrial fibrillation is present, the smartwatch will indicate an irregular rhythm reading of 50-120 BPM. If sinus rhythm is present, the smartwatch will indicate a regular rhythm reading of 50-100 BPM. Best to consult the doctor if you receive Atrial Fibrillation as the result, or if you are not feeling well.

Here’s how to measure your electrocardiogram (ECG) with Samsung Health Monitor app:
