Vietnamese Food Festival at Renaissance Hotel Kuala Lumpur

April 16, 2019 By StrawberrY Gal - Food Review, Invited Review Leave a Comment

Now you can have the authentic Vietnamese Cuisine now in Renaissance Kuala Lumpur Hotel. This is where one can have the best of everything from Vietnam where this round – guest chef Nguyen Minh Phuc from Phu Quoc, from 11 April to 20 April 2019 at their all-day dining outlet, TEMPTationS.

The festival is spearheaded by Guest Chef, Nguyen Minh Phuc, the Executive Sous Chef from JW Marriott Phu Quoc Emerald Bay, Vietnam along with his team of culinary experts who are ready to showcase an unparalleled culinary journey through their interpretation of authentic Vietnamese cuisine. And the chef have over 15 years of experience under his belt specialising in Vietnamese cuisine, Chef Nguyen will be showcasing his speciality dishes.

We started off with their speciality which is their Goi Cuon Trai Bo where it is one of the signatures of Vietnamese Street Food. The combination of fresh spring roll, avocado, noodle, pickled vegetables, fragrant herbs and crushed peanuts all in one wrap comes amazingly good.  The taste comes simply light and yet the aromatic taste of it is just awesome.

Banh Xeo Hoi An
The lovely Hoi An Pancake is packed with the robust taste. The combination of the chicken, shitake mushroom, wood ear, spring onion, bean sprout  with the sweet and sour fish sauce dip. It’s just so awesome especially the aromatic blend of it and every mouthful comes to my preference.

Goi Buoi Tom ( Tien Giang)
Inspired in Tian Giang, this comes simply unique where the pomelo salad is topped with the generous toppings which includes prawns, carrot, bean sprouts, cucumber, fragrant herbs, peanut, fish sauce with the garlic chili dressing.

You can also enjoy the Cha Ca La Vong which is the grilled seabass with the turmeric base. The seabass comes fresh and the meat comes flaky as well. The aromatic blend of the seabass is as good as what I had in Vietnam before.

Ga Ko Gung which is the simmering chicken is cooked together with the ginger and lime leaf. The dish comes sourish but very appetizing.

We also tried the Bo Xao La Lot which is another signature from the Northwest of Vietnam. The beef tenderloin is perfectly sautéed till perfection and top with the onions, chili and piper lolot leaf. Amazingly good!

And of course, we love their Mien Xao Cuo  where this stir fried crab meat is served together with the vermicelli, mushroom, celery, egg and the laksa leaf. The dish comes impressively good and delicious. The appetizing and aromatic blend from from the herbs.

And of course, don’t miss out the Canh Hai San Chua Kieu Mien Nam  which is from the Southern Vietnam. The clear Seafood Soup is packed with various of fresh herbs, pineapple, tomato and tamarind in it. It’s something special and every mouthful brings you with the robust aromatic herbs flavours.

And we ended with the Light and yet sweet delights which is the Che Long Nhan Hat Sen. The bowl of sweeten lotus syrup topped with longan just perfect to ends the overall meal.

Not just that, the hotel had transformed the dinner time to the streets of Vietnamese bringing you with the authentic dining experience. With the live cooking station that had set up in TEMPTationS, guests are invited to get up close and personal with Chef Nguyen and watch him in action.

In conjunction with the food festival, Chef Nguyen will be hosting a private cooking class by the poolside of the hotel, Gazebo, for an interactive and immersive culinary experience.
