Celebrating 61 Years in 61 Days (LIVE IT UP MALAYSIA, MERDEKA PROMOTIONS)

August 9, 2018 by StrawberrY Gal

2018 is the most fitting year to go all out on hanging your Malaysian pride high and proud! In view of Merdeka Day and Malaysia Day in August and September, let Platform initiate your celebratory spirit with our group-wide promotion to rejoice our nation’s 61st year of independence, all in these 61 days! Offering a series of fun and homely flavours, find at all restaurants and bars under the group their own unique specials and dedicated campaigns, from local ingredient-themed menus to 1-for-1 champagnes! Read on to find out more…

BOTANICA+CO BANGSAR SOUTH, BOTANICA+CO ALILA BANGSAR
Paying homage to Malaysia’s flavours, Botanica+Co creates an ASAM-themed menu all through these 61 days.

A sure-soother for troubled throats and the hungovers, Bo+Co presents 7 choices of beverage using Asam Boi: Bo+Co’s Famed Asam Boi Mojito (RM17), Asam Boi Passionfruit Soda (RM13), Asam Boi Kedondong Soda (RM13), Asam Boi Frappe (RM13), Iced-Lemon Asam Boi Tea (RM13), Hot Honey Lemon Asam Boi (RM13) and a Rum, Ginger Ale & Asam Boi Cocktail (RM28, contains alcohol).

Satisfying the nation’s love for anything asam and pedas:
Asam Fish Nasi Kerabu (RM38) is a generous and perfectly-balanced dish lovingly prepared with asam red snapper, butterfly pea flower rice, house-made pickled vegetables and crispy prawn crackers.

BOCOSAN IZAKAYA

Riding on the enthusiasm at crafting goodness out of the ingredient ASAM, Bocosan presents a surprisingly comforting and delicious rice bowl in celebration of Merdeka.
A satisfying and homely lunch or dinner reminiscent of mum’s cooking awaits you:
Asam Teriyaki Chicken Don Set (RM38 per set) – Juicy and chunky asam-marinated teriyaki chicken thigh with grilled garden vegetables, set includes miso soup, appetizer and fresh fruits for after meal.

BOTANICA DELI

It can only be real news that this nation loves fried street food, find at Botanica Deli a shiok and crispy add-on to your meal or a snack any time from breakfast through to the evening whenever your tummy craves a little munchie.

Bringing sweet and savoury altogether in one bite:
Mini Goreng Pisang (RM12, for 6 half-pieces) – banana fritters flash-fried with Chef’s secret batter, accompanied with coconut dip.

STREET BURGERS
Take a whole bite of Malaysian food culture with Street Burgers, as we serve up local-style patties stacked together with fresh condiments in toasty and soft house-made burger buns.
This Merdeka, Street Burgers dedicates its love to our homeland with a burger recipe inspired by the local spices and flavours:

Negaraku Burger (RM22) – Rempah-marinated chicken, percik mayo, lettuce, cabbage, tomato

ENTIER FRENCH DINING

With the restaurant’s menu designed to encourage communal sharing with the dishes, let’s gather at Entier this celebratory season for our all-time national pastime, makan-makan!
Seasonal Special – Josper-grilled whole highland sweet corn with seaweed butter (RM26), Josper-grilled green asparagus with egg yolk confit and cured egg (RM35)
Champagne 1-for-1 – Laurent Robert, Cuvee Prestige NV (Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Chardonnay. RRP at RM85 for a glass)

PACIFIC STANDARD BAR
PST fashioned 3 patriotic tipples after stories very close to our hearts (for full stories please refer to PST’s EDM attached), using tropical tastes and local flavours in combination with small batch craft spirits.
Spirit of Tebu (RM38) – London dry gin, house-made sugar cane and cinnamon cordial, fresh lime, egg white. A cocktail crafted in remembrance of our fallen brave and their camaraderie.
Gula Melaka Old Fashion (RM38) – House-made coconut rum, dark rum, onde onde cordial, grapefruit bitters. Sugar cane which rum is produced from, was crucial in our 1950s post-war economic boom, where its plantation became a site that united our Malay, Chinese and Indian forefathers through their efforts in its manufacturing and distribution.
A New Era (RM38) – London dry gin, lemongrass and palm sugar infusion, fresh calamansi, fresh pineapple, firewater tincture, salted rim. A time-tested amalgamation of flavours for our emerging new Malaysia!

This 8th September for one night only, we bring in Joe Alessandroni from Proof & Company Singapore (bartender residency at Singapore’s famed 28 Hong Kong Street) for a night of awesome music and local-themed cocktails.
