Celebrate lunar traditions with a medley of Millennium Mooncakes crafted by Orchard Hotel’s award-winning Hua Ting Restaurant

July 25, 2018 by StrawberrY Gal

Amid the enchanting moonlight, savour sweet reunions over a symphony of baked and snowskin mooncake delights, delicately perfected by Hua Ting’s culinary mavens. A total of nine coveted mooncake flavours are presented this season, including five classic baked selections and four contemporary snowskin creations.

This year, the dainty delicacies are elegantly encased in gift boxes sporting a contemporary turquoise hue and adorned with tasteful touches of chinoiserie motifs. Perfect for making an impression, the boxes are available in Deluxe or Premium designs. While the former can be reused as a gorgeous storage for one’s knick-knack, the latter is a limited-edition piece enhanced with special features of LED lights and a Bluetooth speaker, doubling up as a bedside lamp.

Contemporary Snowskin Creations
Newly handcrafted snowskin gems include the Mini Fruity Noon Tea 水果茶香迷你冰皮月饼 ($69 per box of 8) featuring a refreshing green apple filling and a white chocolate core infused with Hua Ting’s premium tea – a blend of brightly floral notes and delicate hints of orchard fruits; while the Mini Salted Egg Custard 奶黄咸蛋迷你冰皮月饼 ($69 per box of 8) comprises a velvety custard paste studded with a savoury salted egg.

Making a much-anticipated return are two artisanal mini snowskin selections, namely the Blueberry with Vintage Hua Diao Wine and White Lotus Paste with Champagne Ganache.

An ingenious rendition, the Blueberry with Vintage Hua Diao Wine 迷你陈年花雕蓝莓 ($69 per box of 8) is back by popular demand. Cocooned within a luscious purple, the well-loved cake entices with a delicate balance of the sweetness and tartness of blueberries, imbued with hints of 30-year ‘Chen Nian Hua Tiao’ (Vintage Rice Wine).

For those who favour an alcoholic kick in their mooncake, the White Lotus Paste with Champagne Ganache 白莲蓉香槟 ($69 per box of 8) is sure to hit the spot. Amid white silken snowskin is a champagne-filled white chocolate ganache alongside Hua Ting’s premium white lotus paste. Take a bite and be rewarded with a burst of bubbly goodness that will send you over the moon!

Featuring a flavour each of the snowskin specialties, the Hua Ting Mini Snowskin Treasures 精选迷你冰皮月饼 ($69 per box of 8) is a perfect gift for those who fancy newfangled pairings.

Timeless Baked Classics
Best paired with palate-cleansing Chinese tea, our traditional mooncakes are baked to glorious golden brown, complete with the Masterchef’s touch.

Those mindful of their health will delight in Hua Ting’s low-sugar classics including the trio of White Lotus Paste低糖白莲蓉 ($69 per box of 4), White Lotus Paste with Single Yolk and Macadamia Nuts低糖单黄夏果白莲蓉 ($73 per box of 4), White Lotus Paste with Double Yolk and Macadamia Nuts低糖双黄夏果白莲蓉 ($75 per box of 4), as well as the signature Seeds of Harmony (Assorted Nuts) 招牌五仁 ($73 per box of 4) and Red Bean Paste with Melon Seeds 豆沙瓜子 ($69 per box of 4).

Hua Ting’s Traditional Treasures Gift Box 精选烘培月饼礼盒  – choice of Deluxe set ($73 per box of 4) or Premium set ($98 per box of 4) – comes with a selection of four baked mooncakes.

Millennium Mooncakes by Hua Ting will be available for sampling and purchase from 16 August to 24 September 2018, 12 noon to 8.00pm, at Orchard Hotel Lobby Kiosk. To order, please call 6739 6577, email [email protected] or visit bit.ly/MillenniumMooncakes2018. All prices quoted are subject to prevailing government taxes.
