St Patrick’s Month Celebrations with Guinness

March 9, 2018 by StrawberrY Gal

GUINNESS, Malaysia’s – and Ireland’s – favourite stout, is set to ‘paint the town green’ for the month of March, in celebration of the most famous Irish cultural festival, St. Patrick’s. Throughout the month, GUINNESS will be helping hundreds of bars across the country transform themselves into ‘Irish’ Pubs, bringing a taste of Ireland to Malaysia with performances, games, and prizes galore – and of course, plenty of GUINNESS!

Despite its Irish origins, St. Patrick’s has evolved to become a global phenomenon, with millions of revellers donning green each year throughout the month of March. GUINNESS, perhaps Ireland’s most famous export after St. Patrick’s, has been a proud supporter of the festival in many countries across the world for many years – and Malaysia is no different.

Selected outlets across the country will see their entire facades changed to resemble a pub which would fit right in on Dublin’s fair streets, complete with traditional Irish music and step dance performances, and will be visited by the most well-known of all St. Patrick’s traditions – the St. Patrick’s parade. Other pubs and bars will be hosting their own events sponsored by GUINNESS, meaning that no matter where you are this March, the Irish fun is never far away!

In addition to lending an authentic Irish flavour to bars up and down the country, GUINNESS is giving away 10,000 glasses or bottles of GUINNESS Draught, GUINNESS Foreign Extra Stout and GUINNESS Bright to help get you and your friends into the festive mood.

All you have to do to is to buy a set of GUINNESS at participating bars and pubs, receive an iconic GUINNESS St. Patrick’s Hat, and take part in the ‘St. Patrick’s Hat Trick’ contest. Simply snap a creative photo of yourself having fun while wearing your hat, share to Facebook with the hashtags #StPatricksHatTrick and #GuinnessMY, and you could stand a chance to win five glasses or bottles of GUINNESS for you and your friends.

Further giveaways will take place on GUINNESS’ Facebook and Instagram channels, where you can put your brain to the test answering Irish riddles and deciphering the notoriously thick Irish accent.

Born in Dublin in 1759, GUINNESS is as Irish as it gets. This St. Patrick’s Month, more than 32 million glasses of the black stuff will be consumed in 150 countries across the world – proving that on St. Patrick’s, everyone is Irish. So get out your green clothing, practise your best Irish accent, and get together with friends and GUINNESS this March. Sláinte!

To find out where you can get involved with the Irish festivities this month, and to stand a chance to get your hands on some of the 10,000 glasses and bottles of GUINNESS on offer, check out www.facebook.com/GuinnessMalaysia. Contests are open to non-Muslims over the age of 21 resident in Malaysia. Terms and Conditions apply, see the GUINNESS Facebook page for full details.
