TAUSEND POP-UP BAR TAKING CENTER STAGE AT OZONE

October 10, 2017 By StrawberrY Gal - Food Promotion Leave a Comment

From October 25 to 28, the speakeasy, TAUSEND, from Berlin will be whipping up waves of excitement at Ozone for the most discerning nightlifers in Hong Kong.

Behind an unmarked metal door by the Spree River under the Friedrichstrasse Station railway bridge, TAUSEND, one of the coolest hip spots in Berlin, is unquestionably worth the search. The bar’s expertly crafted cocktails and classily appointed setting, together with a merry-go-round of soulful tunes, set the scene for an exclusive Berlin party. In the back room of TAUSEND is TAUSEND CANTINA, a highly rated restaurant headed by Chef Juan Althaus and Kay Schacht, specializing in playful contemporary combinations of Lima and Berlin flavors with an Asian twist.

For four nights only, guests at Ozone can look forward to a thrilling range of signature cocktails from the speakeasy, complemented with Cantina’s scrumptious selection of small plates and gourmet food. Ending the pop-up on a high note will be DJ Mitch Alive and band playing live to get everyone’s grooves on. Making a dedicated trip to Hong Kong, DJ Mitch Alive promises to take this special occasion to a climax.

Kyoto is a Glenmorangie whisky-based cocktail mellowed with fresh lemon juice, egg white and powdered sugar. The unique tanginess of yuzu liqueur offers an enticing taste profile full of Japanese character. The Tanqueray gin-based Eastern Standard flavored with pineapple and ginger ale is a delicious bubbly treat perfect for ladies. Taking its name from TAUSEND’s resident DJ, Mitch So Alive simply couldn’t go wrong. A blend of Hennessy VSOP cognac, Veuve Clicquot champagne and Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc, and with a hint of cherry liquor, this robust cocktail sets the mood for a fun night out. Guests could also explore great wines of the new world by Moët Hennessy.

Salmon Ceviche marinated in lime juice, passion fruit juice and sake is a refreshing accompaniment to the cocktails. Mixed berries offer a balancing fruitiness while quinoa bits enrich the overall texture. Featuring octopus cooked in chicken coconut sauce, the Thai-influenced Pulpo is a rich and palatable starter fit for every palate. Served with kimchi, sweet corn and purple corn, Wagyu Entrecôte is a tantalizing delicacy drawing inspiration from the classic Korean grilled beef.
