Hate chomping on greens? Get a Green Dinosaur instead

August 3, 2017 by StrawberrY Gal

“Finish your veggies or you’re not getting the dessert!”
Your mom probably tempted you with that when you were a kid. When you got older, you may have used that as motivation yourself to get your green quota-of-the-day filled. If you’re a mom or dad now, you’re probably using the same tricks on your kids.
We know it’s not everybody’s cup of tea to chomp through those green, green vegetables. But there’s always more than one way to skin the fish, get to Rome, and yes, get those wondrous nutrients out of those leafy veggies. Why force yourself if you don’t like to eat them? Just drink up!
And there’s so many amazing combinations of flavours we at Juice Works can bring together that will make you re-think your relationship with veggies.
On that note, specially for the month of July — with the lychee season in full swing — we’d like to introduce to you our delicious new drink, the Green Dinosaur! Why dinosaur? Coz it’s made up of a monstrous dose of goodness that is just too yummy to resist!
What’s in it? Well, there’re spinach, chia seeds, lime, lychee (of course!), tropical juice and low-fat vanilla ice cream — all blended with sorbet for that extra chill factor.
The amazing, all natural green colour of the drink comes from spinach, which is known as one of the best veggies to eat and ranked as a super food by some nutritionists.
Ever wondered why Popeye the Sailor loved the spinach so much? Because this leafy veggie is rich in water-soluble and fat-soluble vitamins, a wide variety of phytonutrients, and loads of chlorophyll. Specifically, it is a great source of the minerals magnesium and iron, vitamins B2, B6, K and E, and folate. It also has calcium, potassium, Vitamin A, manganese, and copper!
Then there’s addition of the exquisitely fragrant, sweet and juicy lychees! The divine taste of lychees aside – yes, it’s so good that it was the favourite food of legendary imperial consort Yang Guifei, one of the Four Beauties of Ancient China (but we digress) – this little fruit is packed with goodness.
It is rich in the antioxidant Vitamin C, and is known as one of the fruits with the highest concentrations of polyphenols among fruits – including rutin, which is a bioflavonoid known
to strengthen blood vessels. It also has quercetin, a powerful antioxidant with anti-inflammatory properties, as well as kaempferol which is known for its cancer-fighting and heart-healthy benefits.
So don’t torture yourself over that plate of greens no more. Get your cup** of Green Dinosaur today and bottom’s up!
**Green Dinosaurs come in three different cup sizes: Junior (250mL) RM8.95; Midi (450mL) RM9.95; and Power (650mL) RM10.95.
p/s: Not too sure what’s an anti-oxidant? Don’t fret. Simply put, they’re these wonderful defenses thoughtfully provided by nature to counter free radicals that can cause illnesses. They also help slow down the aging process.
