The joyful ice-cream season is approaching! This July and August, the brand new “Icy Wonderland” ice-cream collection will be presented at Cafe of Hyatt Regency Hong Kong, Tsim Sha Tsui, where guests may discover a perfect rendezvous with enticing homemade ice-cream delights, available on a rotational basis during the dinner buffet.
Be tempted with a series of icy desserts created by Pastry Chef Gary Lau, including one inspired by the classic éclair and parfait from France. Feast on the unique honey pepper and lobster bisque éclair which features an unconventional sweet and savoury taste. Chef Gary has also added Asian flavours to the parfait, such as Thai iced tea parfait with almond crunch and Vietnamese ice coffee parfait with lemon biscuit, which are just two of the many not-to-be-missed flavours.
Diet-conscious diners may try a range of light summer desserts originally from Sicily, Italy, such as pineapple and coconut granita with soft chocolate ice-cream and coffee and coco-cola granita with vanilla ice-cream. Fruit-lovers are invited to savour a sumptuous selection of chilled summer fruit gazpacho inspired by a traditional recipe from Spain.
Another exciting dessert that chef recommends is inspired by the ice-cream sandwich from United States, including the enticing coconut, chocolate and rocky road ice-cream sandwich and the chocolate cookie and mint ice-cream sandwich. Alternatively, enjoy a sumptuous list of homemade ice-creams inspired by local flavours, such as bean curd, egg and ginko sweet soup ice-cream cup, tangerine peel and pu’er tea ice-cream cup, avocado, banana and basil ice-cream cup or the hojicha tea and chestnut ice-cream cup.
In addition to the above highlights, Cafe will also serve up an impressive range of freshly made delicacies prepared at live cooking stations, including the tantalising live lobsters, enticing grilled seafood and tempting teppanyaki. Other offerings include sushi, sashimi and tempura from the Japanese kitchen; a fine selection of fresh pastas and pizzas from the Western kitchen; authentic curries and fresh naan breads from the Indian kitchen; as well as an array of Western antipasti, salads, cold cuts, seafood on ice and homemade desserts during the dinner buffet.
