MARRIOTT HOTELS IN HONG KONG SUPPORT EARTH HOUR 2016

Earth Hour, an annual global event organised by WWF (World Wildlife Fund) since 2007 is held on a Saturday in March from 8.30pm to 9.30pm. The event aims to encourage households and businesses to turn off all non-essential lights for one hour to celebrate their commitment and also to raise awareness of the need to protect the planet.

The five Marriott Hotels in Hong Kong: JW Marriott Hotel Hong Kong, Renaissance Harbour View Hotel Hong Kong, Hong Kong SkyCity Marriott Hotel, Courtyard by Marriott Hong Kong and Courtyard by Marriott Hong Kong Sha Tin, will once again jointly participate in the Earth Hour on Saturday, 19 March 2016 between 8.30pm and 9.30pm.  Some of our concerted efforts include the following:

1.    Turn off all non-essential lighting at the back of the house area, offices as well as hotel facade*
2.    Dim all non-essential lights in all restaurants and Executive Lounge*
3.    Stop operation of selected escalators*
4.    Encourage hotel guests to switch off unnecessary lights in the room or when out*
5.    Encourage hotel guests to reduce usage of linen and laundry*
6.    Encourage hotel guests to receive hotel folios by email*
7.    Newspapers will only be available on request*
8.    Complimentary internet access at the Business Centre for making WWF online donations*
