BREADSTORY ZESTS UP YOUR CHRISTMAS WITH CANDYLICIOUS TREATS

December 11, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

Christmas is coming! The time for thanksgiving and celebration is drawing near as the year tapers off to a closure. BreadStory is back once again bringing its warm charming treats to add meaning to the festivity. This year, BreadStory lights up the atmosphere with its candylicious collection, a range of delectable and richly flavoured Christmas treats and favourites in a myriad of colours.

Baked to perfection, its collection is infused with the elements of fun and playfulness while preserving the true essence of Christmas traditions. BreadStory’s founder, Jun Low said, “Memorable celebrations are marked by great and happy experience. We are in the business of creating such experience for everyone through our products and Christmas gives us a great reason to do so”.

Living up to the theme of the collection, the BreadStory’s Candylicious Log (RM68) is among this year’s collection highlights. With a different look and feel from the usual log cake, this soft vanilla sponge cake is packed with mixed fruits, blueberry, nata de coco and flavoured jellies. Colourfully adorned with gummies, decorative hollies and a coat of smooth pastel-coloured cream, this is definitely a must-try that comes in a bright pink or black takeaway box.

For those with preference for a more traditional feel, the Traditional Christmas Log (RM68) is just the right pick. A light chocolate sponge cake shaped to resemble a wooden log, it is filled with chocolate mousse. With a coat of fine choco-dusted cream textured like tree bark, the cake is decorated with colourful jelly beans, marshmallows and chocolate bits. Fashionably an all-time favourite dessert, the traditional Christmas log is also a ready-to-go in a pretty blue-white Christmassy box.

The Mini Christmas Log (RM10.90) is a good option for those with an appetite for a variety of tastes and presentations. A trimmed version of the traditional Christmas log, the mini logs come in three awesome flavours, namely

• Marshmallow Chocolate – A chocolate sponge with chocolate mousse, marshmallow and topped with chocolate shavings;

• Oreo Blueberry – A chocolate sponge with cream cheese, oreo mousse, blueberry mousse and topped with oreo bits; and

• Tutti Fruitti – A vanilla sponge with mixed fruits, nata de coco and blueberry jelly and adorned with gummy candies.

Oozing with subtle finesse, the Christmas Fruit Cake (RM48) is a rich moist butter cake stuffed with loads of dried mixed fruits.  With a warm brown look, this is a classic cake that has a special place for those nostalgic at heart.

The Snowman (RM58) is a moist, flavourful fruit cake topped with royal fondant. Shaped like a round-face snowman with red pointy nose and black button eyes wrapped in a red beanie and light green neck scarf, it is a delightful and irresistible finish for those with a sweet-tooth.

The traditional Italian Christmas dessert, Panettone Classico (RM28) returns to the collection this year by demand. Freshly baked, each of the fluffy and moist sweet fruit bread is studded with sweet sultanas and bits of soft candied fruits with a dash of lemon orange zest. For the weight-conscious, the petite-sized Panettone Classico, Mini Panettone (RM7.90) satisfies craving for the sweet bread without the guilt!

BreadStory certainly has cupcake lovers at heart with its Christmas Lovers (RM12.90), a pair of dainty butter cupcakes that come in the flavour of vanilla and chocolate. Dressed in beige and red butter cream, one is sprinkled with rainbow coloured grains and a miniature gingerbread man, while the other adorned with starry bits, silver sprinkles and a charming Christmas sugar decoration.

Santa’s Treasures (RM18.90) is a bag of superfluously and colourfully decorated rich butter cookies topped with royal icing. A sure favourite especially among children, these cookies are variedly shaped to reflect the spirit of Christmas.

The Candylicious collection also comes with gingerbread biscuits as Christmas celebration would not be complete without this ageless favourite. Subtly spiced with a combination of nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves, the BreadStory’s gingerbread range comprises three designs – the Gingerbread Man, the star-shaped Gingerbread Star and the festively-decorated Gingerbread Tree (RM6.90 per piece).
