DAI DAI DONG (大大档) @ SCOTT GARDEN, OLD KLANG ROAD

August 26, 2014 by StrawberrY Gal

dai dai dong

With the fancy name indeed, Dai Dai Dong captured the name in the market with their huge bbq prawns when I read about them in some food blogs. Located in Scott Garden, Dai Dai Dong is bringing you the East Asian street food where you can find mainly Chinese, Japanese and Taiwanese grills and alos noodles to soups and grilled fare.

Started off with their seafood, Dai Dai Dong have scouted the coast for their prawns where they comes with the fresh, most succulent prawns which are fetched from Kuala Selangor at least twice a week. The nine inch jumbo prawns (RM 27/ 2 pc) is one of the signature there. Grilled till perfection, with the juicilicious texture of the prawns complete with the packed with the moist and flavours with it. It is perfectly suits for seafood lovers like me to enjoy. If you are looking for a bigger prawns they have it where the huge monster prawns are 13 inchles long (RM 60 each) which is available seasonal and please make a pre-order to avoid disappointment.

Next comes the squids, another huge one though – The Japanese Squid (RM 27) which is served with the chopped wasabi and olive oil with it. The Japanese Squids come juicy in the texture and each bites is also tangy too. With the kick of light wasabi adding to it; it makes is much more flavourful.

Other than the two highlights of the bbq items, Dai Dai Dong also served more than that where you can have the Japanese style- Yakitori here too. With the huge variety of choices of the yakitori, pick your choices of Yakitori like Squid Tentacles marinated in yakitori sauce (RM 6.00), the bacon-enoki (RM6); Scallop (per skewer) (RM 13) and more. Each of the bites comes with fresh ingridients and it is so juici-licious to enjoy them. The skewers are so good which I love every munch of it.

Besides the variety seafood and grilled temptations; they do serve noodles as well. The Supreme Beef (RM26) where we are being served with their special broth of a selection of noodles, beef balls, brisket, muscle meat, tripe and tendon served with delicious beef tenderloin on a skewer. The brooth comes flavourful with loads of ingridients with it.

As for Supreme Pork Pepper Soup Noodles (RM 26.00) ; they comes with the ultimate combination of pig’s maw, rib, soft bone, pork balls, minced pork, Teowchew pork ball, lard and pork belly. The soup comes with the fragrant peppery taste with it. It is not much pepper to me as I prefer for those with loads of black pepper in it.

Not to forget the signature noodles which is the Supreme Seafood Noodles (RM29.00) is just suits for seafood lovers. The bowl of warm hearty soup noodles comes awesome with a huge feast of ocean delights consisting jumbo tiger prawns, mussels, salmon, clams and squid. Fresh ingridients ontop of the sweet and savory soup! Oh Goodness !
dai dai dong
We ended with some ice creams where the ice creams here are homemade ice creams. The homemade ice creams comes with unique flavours like caramel and more. And what I love is their rum and raisins which is fragrantly done with the taste of rum. Nice !
